Can anyone tell me the name of this place so I could get there by motorbike? Is telling the moto to go to sai suay disco enough? Another post mentioned 'Stepz' near a market, is this near the night market or another market? I'm basically looking for Thai style discos in Hua Hin, and last time I was only Hua Hin for 2 days and was unable to find any. Any other names of Thai discos would be appreciated. :)

Just tell them Soi 6, Bo Fai, it is opposite (ocean side) of Petchkasem Rd., and also oppsite the PTT gas station.
It is well lit up and easy to see, Hin Nam Sai Suai. About 60 Baht on a m/c I think, better to take a taxi.

Just look for a trail of Thais crossing the road from the PTT 7/11 with bottles of Johnny Walker!

There's one under the City Beach Hotel, too. I think it's called Star Planet.

Do you want Farang or Thai?

If Thai try Luknams or Samorian

Mainly Thais and a few Farang. Mainly Thai music but a few Farang tunes too

Yup,
My missus was at Samorian last night until 6am. Not sure it closed at that time, but what the heck? I didn't get home till 2am or something anyway.
The above establishment is good for music.
I went there once and waited outside for a table. I'd never seen people frisked going in anywhere before. Every Thai man was checked. That didn't make me feel comfortable about going in, but it turned out to be a good night and there was no trouble.

Thanks for the prompt replies guys.

Think I got enough info for a few fun days in Hua Hin as soon as I get a chance to head down again. Last time I had a lot of fun in the farang type bars but I like to check out the Thai style places as well.

If you go to this club, be prepared to lose your hearing and your ability to breathe. .and you just may have to burn your clothes because the tobacco smell wont quit. It is packed with drunken teenagers, there is no dance floor ( you dance next to your table if you want to do so and your drinks are always getting spilled. . .more so as the night wears on and the people around you get drunker.) And you can cut the smoke with a knife.

They pack the place on weekends with hundreds of people, every single one smoking like there is no tomorrow and no ventilation . .nothing that works anyway. ( I think one of the conditions of entry is that you go through two packs while you are there) Its a lot like Stepz and Star Planet but these are smaller and a bit less frenzied.

I remember Stepz very well ( havent been for a year or two) because of the rest room attendent guys who bother you with towels and perfume while you are peeing. ! (Yikes!)

OK. You can bring the decibel level down a bit with earplugs and Hin Nam does have a decent "floor show" to watch (more wildly dressed teens!) Though I must ask a previous poster what a "coyote dancer" is.

Of course rating a club like this. .any club really, depends a LOT on your age you know.

If you are a teenager, all of the above may sound like heaven to you. It certainly is to Thai teenagers because they flock there by the hundreds. However, I left my teen years behind long, long ago and though I love to dance and appreciate modern music and dancing, I just can't take the thick smoke and the decibel levels.

I do like the Hilton in that it has a live band and a real dance floor and a mix of people ( Thai and farang) . . .but experiences there have been mixed. They have raised their prices, the last band was horrible ( this one is OK) you do get the crazies sometimes and the lousy waiter/waitress on occasion. So it can get depressing but they do have some ventilation.

One final note about Hin Nam is that it is a firetrap. One exit ( maybe another backstage?) and hundreds of people jammed in and barely able to move.

Have u never seen film called (I Think) Coyote Girls. Ther are very good looking girls who dance on the bar with very little clothing on. I have read that they were being banned in BKK, so you had better get and see them before ban reaches HH
