No, all it gives you essentially is a 5 year visa and the ability to work without the blue book.

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

if you cannot read Thai then its pointless anyway, unless you get it transcribed, think of the cost.
Some of us may strive towards Permanent Residency after 3 uninterruped years of Non Imm Visas. Then they can pay XXXX amount for a 5 year visa. If you're lucky enough to be one of those who get one you may be able to benefit from similar schemes that the "Elite Card" gave.
Work it out for yourself. Sure, it's a big thing to flash around, but how is it better than a long term extension to a visa - for you? Or anyone?
Marketing speak and BTW you'll never be a Thai person, Bearhug (unless you are), so you will never be able to vote here.

Richard, don't forget a vote is worth at least 100 baht per candidate up in Issan!

Cor, you got ripped off. I was about to accept 500B and wasn't even in the province at the time. I asked for a thousand, but they said I didn't have residency, nor did I look like a Thai.
Next election, I'll think ahead.
