Mabelthorpe is a collection of beach huts on the East Coast of Lincolnshire I think. Population in the Summer season three!

I remember being taken to Mablethorbe as a child; we sat in the car and had a picnic and sometimes when the rain eased off a bit you could see the beach between the sweeps of the windscreen wipers.

I know what you mean Jimmy, I spent two months in Bali and I couldn’t find a penny-falls arcade anywhere!

Somtawin will be teaching english English. I've also heard that they've got into bed with some uni and will be authorised to run proper GCSE exams. In that case any child will come out with the same bits of paper as if they were in the UK.

This comes from one of the teachers there who also tells me that it will be the biggest international school in Thailand. I think he's talking size not students.

Nevets, I'm not your enemy but I think your opinion is flawed.

American style English has provided substantial enrichment, many new words, terminology and phrases as well as an overall simplification to boot. When you add this up it means one thing improvement.

Where I come from if you tell somebody you learnt something it sounds like your a complete hoosier. I take off points for that as well as using words like firstly and secondly, and why do British or Australian people always mix up s and z, or add in extra letters where they analyse instead of analyze and have a programme instead of a program?

If a company has high turnover it does not mean it's profitable, it means they keep changing staff and personnel sort of revolving door, its a bad thing

I'd meet to discuss why we "say it better", but I'm off teaching others the same, as in "this is how we do it", as opposed to how we do not, and I'm not in the Hin at the moment.

It's not a cultural preservation issue at all. Its all about giving the learner the best tools to compete with.
