Whilst agreeing that McLaren may not be the best Manager, who are the alternatives. After all the last time we had a successful England Manager was 40 odd years ago.

On top of that the Manager has very little time with his band of superstars so how is he supposed to mold them from club football, where they play different football, styles, tactics and develop understanding with their team mates, into a world class team.

Maybe the others may not have been successful with England, but at least they had a pedigree of success before getting the job. McLaren's only achievement was to take Middlesborough to the final of the European Losers Cup - and they lost that as well.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

I don't take any comfort from the fact that I called the England situation pretty much spot on so far, i.e. Russia would fail to win in Israel and Croatia would already be through to the finals before the game on Wednesday.

Now if you can't manage at least a draw against a team that are no longer interested ( note their 2 - 0 defeat last night if you want any proof) then you don't really deserve to be at the finals.

As for Scotland, well Hollywood script writers would be sacked for writing such unbelievable, tragic, glorious stories. After 12 games it may well have been decided by one horrendous refereeing decision in injury time of the last match. :cuss: :cuss:

What do you think? 0-2 at half time. Hump it up boys to Crouch? Yeah, right.

I hope Lampard is allowed to play in the 2nd half, like take the odd free kick. Gerrard and Barry's efforts have been shite as has most of their play. Anyone there heard of a 1-2?

Desperate stuff.

Why under McLaren do we give away so much territory and play so deep?

1-2 Lamps.

Oops 2-3. I think Croatia are the best team I've seen in the tournament and oh goody, we've just brought on Bent and taken Cole off. Hmmm.

But play so deep and guess what happens, players have time to line up....whoops, there it went!

My only interest from this mo on unless the next England manager is appropriate i.e. they know what they are doing, is Chelsea. 40+ years as a fan. Seen it all, done it all, been there.

Scouse major & minor, geordie area x1,2,3. Mancs, Brummie horrible places, Leeds! Cardiff! Other London clubs and Millwall (shudder). Pompey, S'ton (the old dell) and all in-between.

And cosy put the tea on, Fulham. Except my mate got arrested there - life is never easy.

out thought, out fought & totally outplayed!
its no consolation to me that mclaren will be gone (& good riddance, should never had got the job in the 1st place :cuss: )
next job for english football is a big clear out at the fa, get rid of the numpties in suits & bring in some real football men.
no excuses tonight, we were shite. no passion,no heart & totally clueless.
fair play to croatia, they were quality. think they might do pretty well in the tournament :thumb:

Now you know how we felt last Saturday! The English team could do a lot better, but they are no where as good as the hype tells you. Many of your players are way over paid and over rated. I think injuries to your defenders cost you this time. When I saw the goalkeeper and back 4 it was your obvious weakness
Carson - You don't give a goalie a debut in such an important match.
Richards - Campbell - Lescott - Bridge (it doesn't look solid does it!)

I couldn't believe it when Martin O'Neill was rejected for that twat McClaren. Now it looks like Mourinho will take over, but you never know, cos' the same idiots that appointed McClaren will make the decision again. May be another stupid one. It's not really McClarens fault he's crap, but the people who appointed him should be sacked first!

Looks like now there will be a one-off home internationals. I'm all against that idea, based on the horror I saw at the last Scotland Vs England match in Glasgow by English hooligans which was covered up by the media. On cue at 3pm kick off time, about 200 English 'supporters', ran riot in Glasgow shopping centre streets, beating up old ladies and anyone else in their path. It was coordinated cowardly thuggery. Helicopters were out as were riot police. I saw it and was amazed it hardly merited any news. That's when they decided to stop the home internationals.

On a lighter note, here is a post from a punter in THe Sun:

I think that the FA needs to take a serious look at the sexuality of these England managers and get a straight guy.

Sven is Bi-sexual and Mclaren is definitly gay.

I have this on 1st hand authority that Mclaren willonly pick players with **** Sexual tendancies.

My brother caught McClaren in a bathroom with Lampard in 2004.

They need a staright guy who wil focus on soccer and not the players arse's.
