Silpakorn?

Post by Chas »

I dont know that Silpakorn is anything other than an all-Thai University with English language classes. ( Anyone teach there?)

Websters and Stamford are the only two "English speaking" Universities with international students and all subjects offered in English. Perhaps that is what is meant here in the comment that there are just two.

However, in that context, there will soon be just the one because Stamford is well on the way to becoming all-Thai, even to having changed its name (it is just Stamford University now. ..no longer "International") and moving all operations to the new campus in Bangkok.

They will shut down the Hua Hin campus probably by year's end. This semester, by last minute decree ( the way ALL things are handled at Stamford) the freshmen are in Bangkok. Some students & parents were very unhappy to discover this the first week of classes and demanded refunds. ( Some parents wanted their kids OUT of Bangkok and out of their hair. . that was a big selling point in sending them to Hua Hin. . .only to find that now they are right around the corner.)

As well, when I was teaching at Stamford, every professor on the staff (save one) had at least one other source of income and a part time job teaching somewhere else.

Sorry Mods! I see that this is under "suggestions!" I didnt realize it when I made my post to clarify a couple of things under discussion

It looks like it has become the forum that was being suggested?
