Bad result for Liverpool, already their fans are calling for Benitez to go, but it`s still early days, any revised predictions you Scousers? I am not going to gloat as, although Arsenal have got off to a good start, we have Man U next weekend, and that will be a good test of how far we can go.

And as it seems we have to do without Fabregas. I sincerely hope Wenger will not play junior lad Gibbs on the left fullback again or we would lose for sure. What a junior's play he did against Portsmouth, the word disaster comes to my mind.Arcadian wrote:Bad result for Liverpool, already their fans are calling for Benitez to go, but it`s still early days, any revised predictions you Scousers? It certainly is not the fault of Benitez that Liverpool have made such a dodgy start to the season.
The blame lies with the two American cowboy owners,Gillett and Hicks, who have bled the club dry with the resultant huge debt.
Alonso sold for 30m,replaced with a guy out injured for 2 months for 18m.
No other top line striker at the club other than Torres....most of the top clubs have 3 or 4.
Johnson, the only other major investment at 17m.
The new Greek defender,no disrespect to him, cost 2m.Nowadays thats the sort of fee that clubs like Hull or Burnley spend on a player.
But looking good for the 3 London clubs (Chelsea,Spurs and Arsenal) at the moment.....for the north at least Man City have maximum points.

Just to add a sobering post to this thread, it has been reported on several sports sites and West Ham forums that Jack Collison's father died in a motorbike accident on the way to watch his son play against Spurs on Sunday. He was 46 and his son is 20. This follows the knife attack on Calum Davenport where he was stabbed repeatedly in both legs leaving him hospitalised and his career possibly over at the age of 26.
Sometimes I think West Ham are cursed, I really do.

Redzonerocker asked where is Baabaa. He is usually the first to scoff at other teams` poor results, so bring on the excuses, manager? Owners?senior players? complacency? Maybe Villa had something to do with it as well.
Many of the above, I've got no complaints about the Tottenham result but the Villa loss was not good.
It's a combination of things.
We're adjusting to a new system now Alonso has gone and aren't helped by injurys to key players.
Torres doesn't yet look fit after coming back late from the confederations cup and Gerrard looks like he's still on Holiday.
On a more positive note, our first Team is as good as any in the League and we have still got some very good players to come back in.
Not much point in looking at the table until Christmas anyway.

I've read he may even lose a leg.
The sick bastard obviously targetted his legs to take away his livelihood.

Hardly the biggest shock but FFS.
Pretty bad by the sound of it
