Cant see your attachment here.

Anyway, BB is correct - the system time is set in the admin panel and cannot be changed:
All times are UTC + 7 hours

It is currently Sat Jun 12, 2010 4:25 pm

My guess is that when Mr Orange registered his account on HHAD, he maybe did not register his correct time zone if it's not showing the correct UK time nor Thai time.

Think he should check his own settings in his User Control Panel then Board Preferences and check My timezone.

Orange, that's the solution

Select UTC zone then select summer time in operation option and it reads :
'All times are UTC [DST] ' So now all the posts are referenced to current UK time (GMT+1)
and no need to readjust in October when clocks go back and UK reverts to UTC/GMT.

Or select UTC+7 if you prefer to see all times referenced to Thailand.

You learn something every day.....

One other thing to mention is that if you don't log in the default is UTC+7.

Once again, thank you for the responses.
buksida,
Now I have another query - why can you not see the attachment I added? I can and assume others can as they haven't mentioned it.

Norseman,
I wasn't asked what time zone I was in when I joined, so I would imagine there are others who also have the wrong time displaying. I am going to look at the UCP though, but while it is a very minor thing, it is a little confusing to go to a Hua Hin forum and get a time displaying that does not relate to either Hua Hin or my location.

chopsticks,
Thank you. It seems as though only you know how this system works!

chopsticks,
Thank you. It seems as though only you know how this system works! We all live and learn. This new software is quite complex, and you are the only person to mention the problem. I can only guess that you hit something wrong when you registered. Thank you for bringing it to our attention - we'll know the next time somebody hits the same buttons again.

Yes, you were actually not asked for it when you registered your account, but you had the choice of altering it to fit your own time zone.
It's in the first window where you register your nick and password.

Thanks Big Boy and Norseman for those clarifications, but I am still confused (again!) as to why I can see the attachment on here then? Surely if I have done something wrong then I shouldn't be able to either? It took me a few attempts in the first place!
And can someone explain to me what was funny about the 'newbies' comment? I am a newbie but why is that funny?

As already suggested, it is probably because the image upload system does not support the tiff format - try sticking to jpegs or gifs with the parameters indicated in the 'starter pack'.

In fact to alleviate any further problems you may have with this website please read and ingest both of these thoroughly: http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... php?t=1783 & http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... 26&t=10054

Lev, thank you. OK, I have read those suggested pieces, although i am still confused on some issues. Is it Ok to ask questions about those on here? Things seem to have got a bit out of hand when I ask questions on another section so I am a bit wary now, and stil I don't understand why the newbies comment was funny. If I am the butt of some joke then please tell me so i get the chance to play it on a newbie when I am allowed to if that is how it works although given how it is making me feel I don't think I will. In my few months reading the forum before I joined I never saw anything like this and it is a little disconcerting to be honest, but maybe I just missed when it happened to other newbies.

OK. Time to cool down guys.
Let's keep this thread as clean and meaningful as possible.
The thread is about our recent upgrade and nothing else.

Just a quick question as I'm curious, not really important though, but when I 'Log out' in the mornings then my name disappears from the 'Users Online' box straight away but when I do it in the afternoon/early evening like about this sort of time then my name remains in the 'Users Online' box as registered even though I've logged out.

Is it because it's busy or something? I know it's got the numbers in the box about 'Active Users' over the last hour or so, understand, but that doesn't happen in the morning (probably go down as a guest in the figures), just interested to know the answer. Sometimes I come back after a bit and the board still thinks I'm logged in even though I'm not and I've disappeared for a while.

How quickly does it update everything and how long is it usually before something that you post will register on the board for someone else whose viewing through their computer?

Not important really, I know, just curious, sorry to ask triv questions.

Spitfire I just tried it and no problem

Incidentally Admin, I am very lazy and tend never to log out. Does this cause problems in any way?
