The Toon certainly seem to do well at St. James Park. :D    Pete

My first post in this thread.

I am a through and through spurs boy so will enjoy a little friendly banter with some of the lads on here. As spurs are on the way up I can now start posting comments with optimism. Will certainly finish above the Arse for the first season in years this time around  .

City looked impressive against Liverpool (though spurs made them look like a non league team for 45 minutes). Maschereno (sp) not picked due to ,quote hodgsen, "His head is not in the right place". The Liverpool backroom team have been looking for Maschereno's head for some time now and during a routine search found it up his own arse!

As a Green Army supporter I can assure you that anything the scum says is probably a lie. If it's not, he's been mis-quoted.
Think the "H' word and "him", must be as popular as old Manny :neener:

Gallas has signed up now. Already had an interview with 'The Sun' stating he's gonna win the league with spurs :) . Not sure he's gonna go down too well on his return to the Emirates!
We'll be a better side next year and Aquilani looks a proper player.
Someone quoted this about Liverpool. For the life of me I can't remember who quoted it.

I make it a policy never to make such predictions, they have the ability to turn around and bite you in the arse.

Liverpool looked like a team who've had no transfer funds for 3 years vs one who've had over £300 million.

True, but spurs have never splashed out silly money for average players over those years (can't say if liverpool have or not), I believe Modric is our most expensive at 16 mil. We also offloaded players for a profit during that time (berbatov) and spent the money on new players rather than wacking it in the bank to pay off debts.

I don't know the ins and outs of it but I can't see how liverpool have no money to spend yet spurs, using the same chairman, not some oil tycoon takeover, can afford to splash the cash and build a new stadium. Can't remember where I read it but spurs made more profits over a certain period last year than any other club. This all without a huge Asian following (Found a Thai who supports spurs yet?).

Don't have to feel sorry Manny, this is what the other 87 football clubs outside of the plastic elite go through every season. It is the rest of us who should be feeling sorry the elite team's supporters - they only get half of the true experience of a real football supporter. Shame really.

It must be awful sitting in the top 6 year after year, whereas real teams go through relegation and promotion on regular basis. Even better, in the lower echelons there is always a magic playoff place to go for - keeps the season going even longer. What will the Arsenal have to look forward to after Christmas? Probably fighting over 3/4 place behind the true elite.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

£110'000 a day in interest alone towards the debts of our owners will do that to a club.

This link shows a quick summary.

Pretty nasty stats there Baa Baa.

Sure Liverpool fans will be chuffed if they, sorry, WHEN they get new owners. The premier league in the not so far future will basically be a who's who of the richest men in the world showing off their toys! Any team unable to be bought out by a flash tycoon will see themselves dropping down the leagues. I'm waiting for time when oil tycoons and the like start buying out the championship clubs and division one clubs as, one, all the other clubs will already be taken and two, I suppose it will add a little more fun to their 'game' by watching a previously average team become a giant.

Anywho's COYS

Have filed this comment to check next year and we are sure to talk again :D

You would appear to support the “elite” teams, which surprises me.
These are Chelsea, Man United and now Man City.
If you put up a Saudi oil well to the teams bank manager, you can buy the world.
These teams buy players at ridiculous prices and pay them GBP 100 k + a week.
They can buy a Ferrari every other week.
This puts other teams at a disadvantage right down to all the divisions.

Arsenal and Spurs are out for good buys, now or in the future.
Grow the team up, do not “splash the cash” on silly transfers to obtain instant glory.

I support a team that is frugal with its acquisitions.
Grows talent and lets the team stand on its merits.
Sometimes the immaturity/lack of experience shows through. That is life.
But l am proud of Arsenal and how they play.

Finishing 3rd or 4th on merit and not oil well money or fat yank investors who know sweat F A( :naughty: ) about EPL, Manny is well pleased.
While the spoilt elite are swinging handbags at the top ,if Arsenal or Spurs can nick in , GREAT.
We will take 2nd, thank you, and Spurs 3rd :neener: :thumb: .

There you go Manny, not hard to be civil is it? But please don`t continue to refer to yourself in the third person, it makes you sound like a boxer, or even worse, Mick McCarthy.
