Also downloading the following now, which looks interesting. Documentary about the disgraced Lance Armstrong - 'The Armstrong Lie'.

Here's the torrent download (don't really need the bigger file size for this one)...

Just watched this:

Needed a bit of help with translation at times, as the Scottish accent is pretty strong, but all in all a bitter/sweet film.

Big Bad Wolves

A thriller where the slow parts happen just often enough for the intensity to ease off a bit while the suspense builds. It seemed a lot shorter than the 1h 50m run time. Quotes follow because critics said it better than I could. Each quote from a different source.

A series of brutal murders puts the lives of three men on a collision course: The father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the boundaries of law, and the main suspect in the killings - released due to police misconduct.

While Big Bad Wolves delivers the Hostel-like torture jolts with ruthless precision, the movie is also a rudely funny satire of a macho, paranoid culture where the protection of children is used to justify any conduct.

One thing that's indisputable about Big Bad Wolves: It's a slick piece of genre craftsmanship, a stylish, drum-tight thriller that magnifies the ugly extremes of crime and retribution.

As usual with a satire, the reviews are all over the map.

Find a copy with English subtitles, the spoken language is Hebrew.

Didn't know where to put this so I'll just whack it here.

Shrek the Musical - Just watched the first half or so of this and have really enjoyed it - Great stuff! A ton of work has obviously gone into it.

'Make room for ogre-sized family fun as the greatest fairy tale never told comes to life in a whole new way in this breathtaking Broadway musical adaptation of the hit movie Shrek!'

(Trailer doesn't do it justice)
.

... download torrent below if you want. :D

Watched 'The Constant Gardener' last night after it was recommended to me by a friend and enjoyed it as it covered some ground I was familiar with whilst working for the British FO in Africa.

A riveting film of intrigue based on a John le Carré novel. Ralph Fiennes is the star and portrays the innocent diplomat tied up in a battle between the powerful, greedy and corrupt pharmaceutical conglomerates and the corruptible Whitehall powers that we all know exist. Makes one think about the medication we are prescribed by our trustworthy doctors.

Edit. John le Carré, in his original novel, provided a dedication and also a personal afterword. Both the dedication and part of the afterword (amended) are reproduced in the closing credits of the film. The first states: "This film is dedicated to Yvette Pierpaoli and all other aid workers who lived and died giving a damn". The latter continues (in the next credit): "Nobody in this story, and no outfit or corporation, thank God, is based upon an actual person or outfit in the real world, but I can tell you this, as my journey through the pharmaceutical jungle progressed, I came to realize that, by comparison with the reality, my story was as tame as a holiday postcard". The text appears over John le Carré's name.

^^ Agree with you totally about it being a riveting film, Richard. One of my all time favourite films. If any of you haven't seen it, you should.

As the currently overseas movie guru Sandman would say, a definite keeper.

Philomena

A real weepy with a tale of intrigue which no doubt resembles what really happened in those days.

Dame JD and Steve Coogan star and all others fall into the shadows

The attraction for me is the growing interaction between two totally different mindsets. A determined aging mum seeking the truth about the loss of her son and a typical failing media and spin doctor looking for a story and they finally blend as the real tale unfolds

Go for it and enjoy :thumb:

Mentioned it to my son, and he produced the DVD from his bookshelf. Unfortunately its in Korean with English subtitles. My son agrees that it is an amazing film.

I'm too lazy for subtitles, so I'm downloading the 2013 remake instead.
