He’s obviously very popular, just not my cup of tea - I don’t find somebody calling another a f***ing c*** particularly funny, but maybe I’m just old fashioned!!

Im neutral on Ricky, but I watched Afterlife S1&2 and genuinely thought it was bang average.

Couldn't see what all the fuss was about

I would imagine I'd prefer his stand up stuff far more than Afterlife

I doubt I'll bother watching S3

Hey ho, takes all sorts...

I find his stand up very funny. He treads very closely to the line on a lot of jokes. Actually, that's a lie, he steps waaaaay over the line mostly. He is deemed extremely offensive by many. There isn't really any subject he won't joke about.

But some things he says hits the nail on the head.

Seen this clip before and yes like this edgy stuff

But Afterlife has far too much sentimental/romantic bullshit in it which IMO is not him and purely commercially driven. Good luck to him and his bank balance, but as entertainment I think its mostly drivel.

It reminds me of films like Love Actually which I truly despised and everyone else loved.

I'm liking you more everyday.

That isn't usually my cup of tea either (see the movies thread), and the first time I saw Gervais play a half serious/tearjerker role, it took a moment to get used to it. Is not really him, I agree, but I thought he played the part very well in After Life. (edit: it helped that it was sprinkled with his twisted humour here and there).

Just watched the first of a six parter BBC series set in Oz starring Jamie Dornan (The Fall). All six eps ready for download.
I'm hooked, a bit Duel (Stevie Spielberg) and Fargo (Coen Bros).
Enjoy

My son sent me a message this morning to say this is worth watching, so it’s on tonight’s agenda

Watched the first 3 episodes of the Chucky series. Really enjoying it so far. Not sure it's deserving of its 91% rotten tomatoes score but good nevertheless. Some solid dark humour.

Each to their own, as my views on the odd movie of late have obviously shown! :D It's also had some mixed reviews in the press, but I'm happy enough :thumb:

I too have watched the first two episodes and I’m finding it goes from really captivating watching, to, not sure this is worth watching, and then back to very good again. Although I’m definitely going to see it through to the end, I don’t think it’s up there with say “Line of Duty”?

I got halfway through ep 3 last night...... and then couldn't take any more.

I understand your point about it wavering up and down. It could've been good. But they've ruined it IMO

Doubt I'll bother finishing

I'm not sure how you think 'they' have ruined it, but it doesn't really matter. These things are always subjective, one man's meat is another man's cliche, etc, etc. blah blah...

For me it's fine as it is; I'm near the end of ep 5 and I'll have binge-watched it with a few hours kip in the middle. I like some of the quirky touches, like the nervy fat constable and her condescending control freak fiance, and the deaf old codger who (understandably) refuses to use his hearing aid.

It won't live long in the memory, but it's certainly not a waste of time.

I haven't started this but reckon it could be good: Around The World in 80 Days 8 part mini-series - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9174578/
Download: https://www.ettvcentral.com/torrent/135 ... -x264-bone

Another one taking Netflix by storm is Arcane. My kids put me on to it and I like it - doubt anyone else here will since its animated and created by a game developer - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11126994/
Download: https://www.ettvcentral.com/torrent/131 ... 4-galaxytv

Just started another on Netflix called Shadow and Bone which has potential (for me anyway - I know my tastes are divergent from most on here).
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2403776/

Almost at the end of Yellowstone which IMO is one of the best series out there at the moment.
Download: https://www.ettvcentral.com/torrent/135 ... 4-galaxytv

Can't wait to start The Book of Boba Fett which has just begun season one.

Just as well we're still in lockdown ... this is the way.
