All very well to back him up, as many police have a thankless and dangerous job, but if he could not dis-arm an old woman without a taser, maybe he should not be a cop.

NSW top cop will not watch tasered grandma bodycam

NSW's top cop says she will not watch confronting video of a 95-year-old grandmother being tasered in a nursing home, as the elderly woman's condition deteriorates in hospital.

The incident was captured on body-worn camera by the two officers attending, but NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb told reporters she had not watched the video.

"I don't really intend to, no," Ms Webb said in Sydney on Saturday.

"I've heard what's in the body worn, and I don't see it necessary that I actually view it."

Police would not make the footage public, she said, adding it was protected under the Surveillance Act.

"We don't intend to release it unless there's a process at the end of this that would allow it to be released."

The great-grandmother who was tasered by police in an incident that outraged the nation has died from her injuries.

The Daily Telegraph said Clare Nowland, 95, died in Cooma hospital on Wednesday night surrounded by family.

Her family told the newspaper her death came shortly after the officer who discharged the taser at the 95-year-old was charged with three offences.

“Mrs Nowland passed away peacefully in hospital just after 7pm this evening, surrounded by family and loved ones who have requested privacy during this sad and difficult time.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with those who were lucky enough to know, love, and be loved by Mrs Nowland during a life she led hallmarked by family, kindness and community.”

Senior Constable Kristian White, 33, will face charges of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and common assault when he fronts Cooma Local Court on July 5, police said.

Earlier on Wednesday evening, NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said it was “possible” the charges could be upgraded “depending on what happens.

NSW Police later issued a statement confirming Ms Nowland’s death.

“It is with great sadness we confirm the passing of 95-year-old Clare Nowland in Cooma tonight,” the police statement said.

"A cheese company has been criticised for its use of a 180ft naked chalk figure - with an important omission.

The Oxford Cheese Company printed the Cerne Abbas Giant on a label for one of its products, but without its penis.

Cerne Abbas Brewery, which also uses the giant's image, said the company had "exploited" the popular attraction.

The cheese company said it also uses the uncensored image, but created a logo with "trousers" at the request of a major supermarket chain.

The firm advertises the new product on its website as Cerne Abbas Waxed Cheddar from Britain.

But in a Facebook post the brewery said it had misused the image by removing the giant's historic symbol of fertility.

It said: "The Oxford Cheese Company you are a disgrace! We are strongly proud of our heritage and to deface a national monument to sell some smelly old cheese is a disgrace.""

This LBGTQ malarky worked for me recently. When on holiday in Italy last month I was in a Cafe/bar when I had to pee, there was quite a queue for the gents and what with my sensitive bladder time was critical so I used the unoccupied ladies lav. When I emerged there was a sour faced "karen" waiting and said " You do know this toilet is for ladies?", to which I replied, " Yep, I'm trans!" and proceeded to mince back to my seat.
