At least that will get me through my next annual renewal due in seven months! :D

Why are they moving again in eight months?

They are building their new office, supposedly in the same Singkhon area. Therefore they just need the premises for 6 - 8 months until their new space is ready...

VCP,
Where did you get that information? As far as I know Dan Singkhon already moved into new premises, so I imagine this might be more of an exercise waiting for the new province to be created. Just a guess but I can't see them going to all this trouble relocating in Hua Hin only to turn round a few months later and move to Singkhon anyway - they might just as well have moved now.

I read after 8 months they are moving to a new building in Amphoe Yim which situated near the market.

I don't know 'Yim' and don't know which market!?!?

I guess you're joking because none of the clowns in immigration can speak English let alone read it!

But if you have come to Thailand and want to live here remember The clowns are those that think they are so superior that they dont need to speak any Thai and are silly enough to call the person with their nuts in a vice clowns

Moving on,

Stories I have heard include a 14 mill. baht budget next year for the construction of a gov. building which will, presumably among other offices, house Imm.

Another is that a gov. building is being constructed up Soi 134. No market there that I'm aware of, but here's the Yim - :)

There is a government building or complex of government buildings (including a new police station) being built on Soi 88 directly across from where the shooting occurred last year...

Your nuts they may well have in a vice - not mine though.

Realizing -a long time ago- that I was expected to deal with these clowns I moved on.
Parting with hard earned cash to 'facilitate' procedures etc. is not my scene.
I don't think i'm superior in any way at all but i never accepted a bribe whilst i performed my duties as a government official.

nangyang,
If as you say you 'moved on' a long time ago, how do you know who works at the immigration office and details of their personal lives (who they learn English from)? I'm not saying I disbelieve you, but it seems odd that you would (a) be interested enough to comment on here, and (b) that you are in Thailand without the need to deal with these 'clowns'. Have you somehow acquired Thai nationality? Or Permanent Residency? I'm sure others would be keen to know how you have circumnavigated the need to deal with the immigration department, unless of course you don't live here and only visit?

As an aside, I have never been asked for, nor proffered any money to facilitate my stay here, just filled in forms and supplied the asked for paperwork and documents as well as the listed fee, neither in Hua Hin nor any other immigration department that I have dealt with in Thailand, and I don't intend to. I haven't even given them cookies or cakes as some on here profess to do, and I have always received good service, sometimes excellent and admittedly sometimes surly, but have always received what I have asked for even when I have not fitted the requirements completely. Maybe I have been lucky?

Wonderlust.

Well said, I have always been dealt with in a curtious and pleasant way by Immigration officers, who do a difficult job in Thailand.

These offices are often under staffed and under funded but the majority of cases are dealt with as quickly as possible.

If you take a little time to learn some basic Thai as Sargent said, it helps, and a smile to them does not cost anything.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
