But as a league, we've also held our own, when they did the 'league of league' thingy, I recall we finished 5th once.

Back in those days it was always an aim to finish in the top 10 within our own league each week ie it was the top 10 scores in each league that counted. That way you could really feel as though you were contributing to Team HHAD's success.

Yes, that was a good feature, BB. Shame it disappeared. I seem to remember that we did pretty well a couple of times.

OK, I'm going to do this again, but it is not a real competition! It's to see if people like this format better than the existing IKTS. I don't see the IKTS site and details improving under the current management. If Barclay's takes it back next year, that's a different story.

I tried to make the pool open so no one has to be accepted, but I can't do that unless I upgrade and pay. Therefore I'll have to OK joining.

I haven't played it yet so no idea what it is like, or if better than the existing IKTS. Give it a try if you like and provide feedback if you think better than what we have now. Pete

You're nuts! They have cost me so much this season that now they are my 1st thought for insurance - I'm talking Chelsea if in any doubt!

OK, I'm going to get this over with and archive the info here in case as a group we decide next season that Superbru is a better option than Talksport IKTS.

1) No changes after Picks are made.

2) No banker and no Insurance.

3) Scoring System, See: http://www.superbru.com/epl/how_to_play_scoring.asp

4) There is a separate Pick section for each of the weekly match up's. Beneath each team name is a full record of all their matches and results for that season. You place your mouse arrow on one and it brings up full details automatically.

5) There is a Global leader board, an X team leader board X=the team you have chosen as your favourite team, a pool to pool leader board, and community prediction statistics showing how many picked what outcome, percentages, charts etc.

6) There is a tab at the top for Standings, Fixtures, and a complete performance history for each team.

7) At present Superbru has 17,520 players.

Those are the major points and differences. Pete

I've been using Superbru and Sportsguru for quite some time and have covered quite a few tournaments - mostly for the game played in heaven........... although we do have a league for the English Premiership also!!

All in all, both have been superb IMHO, although the Banker(s) in IKTS and the fact you can drop as well as gain points can also make things interesting.

One thing with Superbru and Sportsguru is that they are fairly good on updating scores, and I've never had an issue with logging on.

Anyways, happy to play in either or both leagues - all good fun!!

No, it's not good to have two leagues running per the sentiments expressed at the beginning of the season, and I agree with that. In essence, it's Buksida's call next year as he is the IKTS pool owner.

I just can't show any loyalty to a bad computer program, which Talksports is. I still need to get a temp password with each log in and assigned passwords simply do not work. Barclays was different. Everything worked well and their focus was 100% on the game, not a radio station or selling magazines. I started to get spam this morning from Talksport about some sport magazine.

In any event, we can bring it up again next July depending upon which company is going to host IKTS. Pete

No, I agree it's pointless having 2 leagues running for HHAD, I just happen to be in a couple of completely separate leagues with different programs. As I said though, more than happy to go with the flow next season - moral victory so far this season........ I'm not last yet!!

Personally, I find Superbru restrictive in that it doesn't allow amendments if you change your mind (OK, I know, one of my rules is don't change your mind). However, quite a few members have stated on the thread that they've changed their minds. Apart from that, I don't think there's much to choose between the 2.

My sentiment is why fix it, if it's not broken?

It is broken BB, and frustratingly so for some. I keep an open mind though until we see what happens next season. Pete

Is it broken? It takes a little longer than last year's competition to update, and like most IT systems, there have been a few teething problems. However, it generally works.
