I've always found that if a Sunday or Bank Holiday is involved, then it doesn't arrive in my Thai bank until the following day after the holiday.
Transfers during the week are fine.

Yes, I had the same problem Friday. The delay happened 6 times.

I hope the payment from Wise registers as an international payment, as thats required for our visas, even if it comes from a local account ultimately owned by Wise.

On saying that, I made a transfer earlier - I studiously avoid weekends - and it told me in advance it would be completed in seconds, but it wasn't, it took about 20 minutes according to Wise, as oddly, about 5 minutes before that, I got a text from Kbank confiriming receipt of the payment. Never had that happen before.

I've always found that if the transfer is over a 'bank holiday', Sundays included, the money is deposited at 1400 the following day. Every time.

The bottom line is: don't use Wise on a Sunday or bank holiday if you need the money quickly!

Be careful what you wish for, if they show up as international payments, they'll be taxable.

Tax or no tax, this is how many of us get our annual visa renewals.

Yes, there have been unpleasant delays in transfers lately. :(
I usually use to pay with a credit card and the money usually is in the recipient's account within seconds,
but it keeps happening that Wise claims that the money has already been paid out and has reached the recipient, even though this sometimes only happens several minutes, 20 minutes, 60 minutes, or even several days later.
You then feel powerless and helpless. to activate wise support is unefficient and takes too long :(

I'm sure that's not the norm. When you pay by credit card, the merchant doesn't get his money immediately and normally takes a couple of days.

That's the way I've always understood it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You can save your credit card in your Wise account and use it for payments via Wise.
and then Wise will usually show "already done" on your screen for your money transfer, e.g. to a Thai recipient account, and usually the recipient (wife's relative) can also confirm this immediately via smartphone, yes, money has been credited. within seconds

FYI, I've been getting a lot of emails like the below, almost daily for the past 2 weeks. The mind jumps to possible problems with them, or shortage of cash deposits?

.... "We’re committed to cutting the cost of moving money across borders. After our latest review, fees for doing some things with Wise have gone down.

Add 10,000 USD to your USD balance using ACH and it'll now cost you 32% less — just 16.97 USD instead of 24.94 USD*.".....

If the timing is so important then send a day or two earlier. common sense I cannot believe the amount was so large to be a problem for one living here unless a house purchase.

Hi :thumb:

I transferred 6k GBP earlier today from my UK bank account to my Thai Kasikorn account using WISE.

It took 11 seconds to reach my Thai account.

Really pleased with the service and getting over 43 baht to the GBP .... cue the GBP going over 45 Baht tomorrow!!! :duck:

Did a transfer from Wise to BKK Bank on Friday lunchtime..Wise then informed me it would be MONDAY before the funds arrive!
On Monday morning still no money has come thru', so I transfered 2000b.to keep me going..Was informed it would be in my account within 38 mins..
...I then got a message saying it will now be 4 hours & 38 minutes! (wtf?).
My main lump of money finally showed up in my BKK account at 3pm on the Monday..
...Is all this linked to the system crashes banks were expiriencing on Frinday in the UK..?
(So at this moment in time I'm rather p****d off with Wise.)
