Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Sorry, Caller,
I wouldn't class Sateeb's comment as 'hatred' which is a very powerful word. It does point out that our leaders no matter who they are don't always 'practice what they preach'. A little like Trump telling everyone the advice to wear masks is VOLUNTARY and "I for one will not wear one".
The populace looks for leadership and advice from our heads of government. No matter who that is and what flavour he is, it's his/her responsibility to do just that ----- act responsibly.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Sateeb, how do you know he was not wearing protective gloves?
Having had the virus he probably was. Have you photograhic evidence?
Or are you just being awkward?

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Boris said himself that he shook hands with everyone. Doesn't matter whether he had protective gloves on or not. After the first handshake, the gloves could be contaminated and then spread to the next person and the next and so on, then onto any surfaces he touched. Did he sanitise his hands after every handshake? Of course not.
His actions cannot be argued away.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
That report was from March 3rd, at that point Johnson was claiming to have been shaking hands with Covid patients and by the end of March, he had tested positive.lindosfan1 wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 11:31 pm Sateeb, how do you know he was not wearing protective gloves?

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Sateeb why are you posting old news about Boris? Have you a hatred for what he is doing. Bit like a journalist from the Sun.

That report was from the BBC yesterday, which,if i'm not mistaken is current news, and shows that Bumbling Boris was shaking hands(unprotected) against advice from his scientific advisors prior to contracting the virus and admitted that before the nation in a press conference, so yes, IMO he's a bit of a plonker!!

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
It's more anger than hatred. Here's a current headline that highlights the poor response from the government.
Coronavirus: UK death toll passes Italy to be highest in Europe
1 hour ago

The UK now has the highest number of coronavirus deaths in Europe, according to the latest government figures.
There have been 29,427 deaths recorded across the UK - a figure Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said was "a massive tragedy".
The latest total for Italy, previously the highest in Europe, now stands at 29,315.
But experts say it could be months before full global comparisons can be made.
Both Italy and the UK record the deaths of people who have tested positive for coronavirus.
BBC head of statistics Robert Cuffe said Britain reached this figure faster in its epidemic than Italy.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Even before Covid I remarked here on the forum and in many conversations that the Thai greeting was far more hygenic than shaking hands.
Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News

Come on guys, this is a full page of drivel, with not an element of news. Boris shaking somebody's hand 2 months ago is not news, it represents a slow news day.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Another example of "do as I say,not as I do!", seems to be quite a lot of it around these days with those in "power"
Coronavirus: Prof Neil Ferguson quits government role after 'undermining' lockdown
Prof Neil Ferguson has quit as a government adviser on coronavirus after admitting an "error of judgement".
Prof Ferguson, whose advice to the prime minister led to the UK lockdown, said he regretted "undermining" the messages on social distancing.
It follows a Daily Telegraph story that a woman, said to be his "married lover", visited his home in lockdown.
His modelling of the virus's transmission suggested 250,000 people could die without drastic action.
This led Prime Minister Boris Johnson to announce on 23 March that he was imposing widespread curbs on daily life aimed at stopping the spread of coronavirus.
Under those measures, partners who do not live together were told they can no longer see each other.
In a statement, Prof Ferguson said: "I accept I made an error of judgement and took the wrong course of action.
"I have therefore stepped back from my involvement in Sage (Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies).
"I acted in the belief that I was immune, having tested positive for coronavirus and completely isolated myself for almost two weeks after developing symptoms.
"I deeply regret any undermining of the clear messages around the continued need for social distancing."
He called the government advice on social distancing "unequivocal", adding that it was there "to protect all of us".
He shot to public attention as "Professor Lockdown".

Seems that Prof. Lockdown has been hoisted by his own petard

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Sateeb,
As your PM facility is turned off (ask yourself why only yours is turned off), I apologise to other users for replying to your Post Report on the open forum.
An event that was first reported 2 months ago is not news, it is history. The fact that some news agencies might be struggling for something to print in an attempt to sell their newspaper does not re-classify it as news. As for claiming just 1 poster has complained, I can assure you that your name is by no means bottom of the complaints league, in fact it is up there with the worst of the worst. If you wish to remain as an active poster please listen.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Professor Neil Ferguson is all over mainstream news published today. BBC, MSN, The Guardian etc etc.
Surely that is current and relevant.
Not taking sides either way but have been following the news. This thread, surely, is about news relating to Covid?
