So the headline should have actually been, "Sales of cars fell."
Maybe all those Asians with a whole family on a scooter would like a car as well.I don't change my car every 3-5 years (neither does my wife), they (cars) are looked after, serviced regularly and will run for years to come. WHY therefore are more and more cars required?
Well yes, but that's neither the question or the argument... Who exactly are "those Asians" btw?
And likely another thread...
I may not agree with your views on EV ownership @2/cb2/cb wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 8:16 pmI am guilty of being rude about battery cars, but not forum members who like them. I'm still reeling from the "Icehole" bit - despite the fact I don't park in "Charging Spots", I'm apparently in a new "Anti-Group" due to the fact that I can't afford to change my (ICE) car(s).... Oh dear.![]()
But, what's the feeling of Musk visiting China for negotiations regarding "Driver-Assisted" software? The whole "Driverless" issue continues,
Shared Technology? The likes of BYD will continue to have Chinese Government support - the Chinese will always steal technology, what the feck is Musk doing?

I don't, as his opinions are misleading and based on nothing but his bias of all things BEV.Khundon1975 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 3:48 am I may not agree with your views on EV ownership @2/cb
but I of course support your right to post your views.
If you want to do that on here, it's much easier being pro-EV than anti, you can just post news items!"Yes I am a wind-up merchant."
Most of what you say there is wrong. Different surveys give different figures but in at least some of them, EV's are only a little less reliable than ICE vehicles (and most of the problems are software-related rather than mechanical).2/cb wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 4:42 pmElectric pick-ups? These vehicles will be off the road more than on. They’ll be unreliable, prone to fires, needing constant charging, and the supplier will probably go bankrupt leaving the buyer with a worthless asset.STEVE G wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 4:48 am Pattaya launches electric baht-buses to tackle long-term pollution

"PATTAYA, Thailand – In a bid to revolutionize public transportation and combat pollution, Pattaya City took a significant step forward on April 25 with the official handover of electric pickup trucks, Hilux Revo-e, for trial service as Baht-Buses, locally known as the Song Taew."
You’re welcome.
