GBP vs THB
Hi Pete, I'm not sure as I haven't done one for years now (transferred everything back then), looked on Barclays website and they are saying 20 Pounds, approx 36 USD. Sure some of the other members will know more.
I think there's a bit of controversy in UK about the cost and that banks are charging well in excess of their actual cost plus reasonable overhead!?
Your 26 USD sounds a reasonable amount.
Cheers,
SJ

Best rate of the month from Bangkok Bank, 25th at 61.97. Transfer on 23rd gets exchanged on 25th at highest rate.sargeant wrote:What i would like to find is a set of monthly graphs showing the rises and falls and see if there is an optimum time somewhere in the month where it would be higher so i can concentrate around that periodSuper Joe wrote:23rd

Super Joe,
Thats sods law the rate is starting to improve, the wife is coming home Thursday when it climbed to 64 - 65 i told the wife too hold off because it's getting better everyday and then it took another dip so in effect i lost her some money i transfered some from the U.K two weeks ago and only got 58 to the pound and £22 transfer fee some times you just can't win with the markets so volatile.
On top of the p*ss poor exchange rates my wife reconds she can't belive how expensive everything is getting even up in the Isaan markets, 8 months in the U.k and she has told me there is a considerable differance in prices.
Kendo.

Expect volatility for some months yet, toss a coin for the future rates..
Markets are settling but still in turmoil.
Financiers are awaiting developments in all US dependant economies. the acquisition of Bradford and Bingley bad debts in UK (tied up with HBOS) was a necessary move. So dont despair - all will settle eventually and much as I disagree with the Brown/Darling alliance ( I wonder if everyone days 'Good morning, Darling') it does seem as though they've acted in the correct manner for once.

Anyway saaargee looks like you're pissing up the right lamppost now. It would be well worth changing you penzione for some Welch Kroner Futures that mature on the 23rd of each month. You'll need to keep a close eye on the approaching Autumnal Equinox though.

Some friendly advice. should you come into possession of a singular one off brain cell please dont put it in the vacuum between your ears permanent solitary confinement would leave you open to the charges of torture and cruel and unusual punishment.
