I may be confusing matters.

I only have the cheap ass Thai TV, 50 odd channels, no dish. Does that have the World Cup?

Premier League is on Sky in the UK but the World Cup is always on terrestrial TV, is that the case in Thailand?

I've found in the past that it is generally shown on cable TV, but they don't necessarily advertise it in advance. It's usually pot luck flicking through the channels around kick off time.

The really annoying thing is that they tend to have advert breaks while the match is on.

It's much better to watch it on sattelite.

Yes, Thai TV 3 and/or 7 will have it live. The problem may be getting the commentary in English on your system. Pete

Am I right about the adverts, or has that practice stopped?

I know, all the bloody England matches are GMT Evening matches while I'm in Thailand though.
It was just my luck that at least 5 Liverpool matches on my last visit were late kickoffs. I watched 2 games in 6 weeks, a loss to Pompy and a loss to Le Arse.

Have to hope the local is having WC nights I suppose, only trouble is the owners a Jock. :P

Don't know. I always watch things like that on True. I do recall watching some kind of sports on Thai TV and they ran adverts in a little box in the corner as the event was going on. Distracting but didn't block the whole picture. Pete

EDIT: Thinking more, I think it was the Euro/Asia golf championship a few weeks ago that had the advert boxes.

That'll do me, they'll make more sense than Martin Tylers Monkey and Richard "Dick Head" Keyes anyway.

You're right about the adverts BB, I've seen Euro and domestic cup games on it, It's the match that shrinks into the top corner while the ads are on though.

Here's the ESPN schedule listed in USA East Coast time. Pete

http://www.worldcupblog.org/world-cup-2 ... edule.html

Interesting thing about that schedule is that they don't have the third place match or the finals. That may put all of us here watching on Thai TV. :(

Got all the experts in then?

May as well employ Stan "Dogger" Collymore.

At least you'll be spared Andy Gray! I wish everyone could be. Have to agree listening to Thai commentary won't detract from the experience, who needs a bag of wind waffling on in any case!
