Another great nature documentary from the BBC with superb filmatography, well worth the watch and one I'm thoroughly enjoying so far
"Cities: Nature's New Wild" is a three part series showing on BBC 2/BBC iPlayer. It's up to part 2 at the moment so should soon be available on the usual suspects if not so already (episode one at least).
As the title indicates, it shows the incredible range of animals that have made their home in the world's cities - some eye openers from Hippo's roaming the streets at night in St. Lucia, to the frighteningly large "Water Monitor Lizards" beneath the streets of Bangkok
Thailand comes in a few times with the afore mentioned capital and also Lopburi and it's "Mafia Monkeys".
Another BBC 3-part doc well worth a look (although I'm only starting ep 2) is The Shipman Files: A Very British Crime.
EDIT: Something I hadn't realised is that he was known locally as Dr Death before any investigation! A crying shame he was able to commit suicide after only a few years inside...
Have just started watching "Walking Britain's Roman Roads" which has a lot more to do with history rather than walking and which I'm thoroughly enjoying thus far. Looking forward to the episode on the "Fosse Way" a road I've driven many, many times in the past working and visiting relatives "Ooop North"
Two of three episodes in of "Inside The Spitfire Factory" (More 4 UK - but worth checking usual suspects) and thoroughly enjoying the history, the engineering, craftmanship and of course the class of the Spitfire itself - quite incredible.
Sir David takes a look at the frightening changes that have happened to our planet in his 93 years living on it. Quite touching at times but there is positivity at the end.
This is more of a doco than a series so I'll put it in here:
The Long Way Up
Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman are back on two wheels attempting to ride from the southern tip of South America to L.A. ... on electric Harley Davidsons! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12824922/
Six-part wildlife documentary looking at the world through the eyes of the tiniest creatures. Full HD recommended for some beautiful footage. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13007904/
Can download at the usual suspects.
Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed? - Hunter S Thompson
Looking forward to this - 4 years in the making and I've no doubt will be of the highest quality as usual. Episode 1/5 showing 03/01/20 in the UK on BBC1 and will obviously will be available on BBC iPlayer for those who can access, and I'm sure on the usual suspects within the week....
