I'm not defending what he did, I'm saying the FA system is wrong.

Your bias doesn't shine through at all though.

What's he been warned about more than once by the way? He's never even had a red card.

If someone gave me the option of facing a player launching himself at me, two-footed (at great risk of breaking my leg and ending my career) or a bite on the arm, give me the bite and rabies shot, any day of the week. The penalty seems harsh when you consider the actual risk of injury.

my bias shines through? I said whatever punishment Fellanni got would have been deserved, prior to the FA sitting.

A bit pot and kettle when it comes to bias I would say

re MrPlum, you are just so wrong, tackling is part of the game and bad tackles happen and are dealt with within the rules, in reality how many career ending tackles do you see on a weekly basis? not many and when they do happen they are well discussed and debated

Re biting anyone that has ever played football to whatever standard knows that biting and spitting at an opponent are clearly the worst offences that can be comitted

Mistimed tackles are fair enough, but elbows, headbutts, punches and "doing" someone, disguised as an attempt to win the ball are all violent conduct, as is biting.

The FA just go whatever way the wind is blowing, they're a law upon themselves.

Most ex-players in the media all agree it's an excessive ban.

As for what's worse, I'll bet Hangelland and Ramsey would've taken the bite that didn't leave a mark over what they received.

For some perspective it's the biggest ban ever handed out for a player on player incident, Defoe got a yellow for the exact same thing and was called up for the next England international.

As for the good old English league would be better off without him, nah, it's about entertainment and he's one of the best, most entertaining players in the world, I'll take that over a league full of Gareth Barrys and Michael Carricks.

The official 22 page FA report on the Suarez incident mentions that the incident was "the top trend on Twitter worldwide"

It was a bit of a joke, not football related, probably in poor taste.
Apologies for the confusion but with no 'delete' function all I could do was edit.

I know nothing of football and didn't want to get nipped by BaaBaa's sharp one-liners.

:agree:
I don't know about desperation, but possibly a misjudgement for once.
Post from last August. Oh how these things come back to haunt us!
Ah hindsight is a wonderful thing. I couldn`t reply earlier as my computer was compromised and I`ve had to re-register as arcadianagain. If I could be arsed I would trawl through ancient posts to see if DM was one of those who advised us Arsenal fans to "mind the gap" last season, but I`m far too busy worrying about this season.

Never mind all that, the next round of matches is nearly upon us. Some exciting stuff about to unfold :-)
