Whilst I personally think current restrictions are OTT in PKK, to me this proposal is bonkers. It is aimed at non-existent tourists, and would only benefit 'richer' business owners:

Maybe these top end establishments have found a way of locking the virus out. If they're going to consider it, fair consideration should be given across the board.

It's all very well calling for an easing of these restrictions. However, these restrictions have been mandated by government. PKK was placed in the 'deep red' zone and therefore has to abide by the restrictions put in place by the government. That being the case, this 'tourism leader' can call for easing of these restrictions but the authorities in HH and even the governor of PKK don't have the authority needed. That lies with the government surely?

Maybe the gooberment wants to keep all the covid within these 'deep red' zones.

Covid-19 situation report in Cha-am municipality on August 11, 2021.
13 more infected people. Cumulative total of 1003 patients.
Details are as follows:
1. Bo Khaem South community, 2 cases infection from family members
2. Ban Phli community, 1 case tested after showing symptoms
3. Nong Kan community, 1 case infection from family members
4. Khlong Thian  community,  1 case infection from family members
5. Baan Yai community, 1 case infection from family members
6. Hua Baan community, 7 cases (1tested after showing symptoms), infection from family members

I know it’s been mentioned on the Forum already, but due to the sheer volume of posts I’m finding it difficult to find - I need to get a PCR test done, can somebody point me in the right direction? TIA

Thanks joelle, certainly a good start assuming details are still valid - based on the schedule, HH Hospital seems to be the best for price and turnaround for a PCR test

Hi Dannie,

If you can get away with the Rapid Antigen test, then I recommend Be Well clinic at 1500 Baht.

My wife went there on Sunday, no problems, in and out within 30 minutes, and she is now safely isolating back in Scotland.

She travelled with KLM who checked everything at Bangkok, and again at Amsterdam, absolutely no problems!

Of course it you must have the full PCR ...... then please ignore my reply ....

Thanks for replying, but unfortunately I need to have the full PCR test - not for the UK requirements but the airline I’m flying with insist that it has to be a full PCR test.

If anybody has had a PCR test in Hua Hin (or Cha Am) can they comment on the speed of turnaround and confirm that the certificate is issued in English (Thai is not acceptable).

Give Bkk Hospital a call, im sure their results will be in English

They do the test 3 times a day 9am,1pm and 3pm also test during weekend. And result certificate in English.
Maybe worth phoning them

Thanks joelle, my wife is going to check to see if CA Hospital do the tests, if not I’ll try HHH next as I’m sure they’ll be quite a bit cheaper than BKK Hospital recommend by The Colonel (thanks)
