The new Dune is out! Not entirely sure how as the release date isn't until 21st Oct. Looks good though and has the added bonus of featuring Zendaya!

Sweet, incoming now. Also grabbed the 1984 version which YTS has.

Thank you, saw the trailer the other week in the cinema, and though it looked good. Downloaded and quality looks great as well.

We've already watched most of the stuff destined for the cinema in the near future.

It's been available on 123Hulu since before it's release but sponsored by 'SlotsLights' which is not good.

Agreed. The slotslights ones are 95% cam copies.

A bit disappointing. The trailer was really good, but I think all of the good bits were in the trailer. I see there is a sequel, so hopefully that will get better.

A 2 hour 30 minute movie that could easily have been squeezed into 1 hour 15 minutes.

DUNE.
Hmm, yes and no. Anyone who has read the book(s) is unlikely to be completely satisfied. It was only when I saw 'Part I' in the opening credits that I realised we weren't going to get the full story, and I'd have liked more rather than less. As far as I can see Part II has yet to be given the go-ahead, and if that doesn't happen I'll feel cheated!

It's a story that really needs the full on LOTR treatment!
My verdict, worth a look, but don't hold your breath: 5, maybe 6/10...

This is not a recommendation but an episode of nostalgia for me.

The release of the latest Bond movie reminded me that I have all 25 Bond movies. That prompted me to watch Dr. No, the first movie starring Sean Connery and the overachieving super skilled actress, Ursula Undress - (sarcasm of course).
It was interesting to note how even movie invented technology at the time appears quite silly compared to today's movies. A Geiger counter the size of a small TV, gadget briefcase with a secret compartment bearing gold sovereigns, computers the size of houses with spinning mag tapes etc etc. Still a good movie of it's time.

Made in 1963 when I was stationed in Singapore, it brought back lots of memories of my time there. I watched Dr. No at a cinema in Singapore. From memory it cost 1.5 Singapore dollars (around 9 to the pound in those days - today 1.85 to the pound). 55 cents for a pint of Tiger Top. Only 2 hotels at the time (Raffles and Goodwood). Aircon taxis had a huge condenser on the roof. The single lane causeway to Jahore Bahru. My favorite massage parlour, 'Tokyo by night'. The time we took a drunken American to a tattoo parlour and had the stars and stripes tattooed on one cheek of his backside and the Union Flag on the other.

I guess the question I'm asking is 'Does watching an old movie bring back memories of where you were and what you were doing at the time?'

I'm sure there'd be some interesting responses. Maybe the launch of new thread.

If you're into horror, I'd definitely recommend this one. Quite a twist on the usual ghost stories.
See if you can work out the ending before it happens. I got it wrong.
Watched it last night. The acting must have been some of the worst I've seen, but I actually enjoyed it. The 2.6 on IMDB is well deserved, but the story itself, and some of the spine tingles were excellent.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, one of my all-time favourite films. 1976, near Bordeaux, where I was spending my gap year as an English assistant. One of those stand-out periods in your life that you never forget, from the overnight drive down in an old Austin Cambridge through a blizzard, to playing rugby on ground like concrete, to frog's legs drying on a window sill, to my first nudist beach, to being tossed by a wild cow...

I saw it dubbed into French, and when I got back to England and watched it again in English, it took me ages to come to terms with Jack Nicholson's voice - it just didn't sound right!
