They (the ones that can afford good education) are smarter than us. Particularly in regards to science and maths. That ain't up for debate. Only time will tell if the Thai doctors got it right on this one. If y'all start dropping like flies...

Well, at least we'll know they were wrong.

The Thai "experts" are told what to do and say by the junta which has its own motives - to go against the regime has now been criminalized. Science and research doesn't come into it here which is why they usually buck global trends and do things the "Thai way".

This was the Singapore CNA video that was referred to earlier today

Of course, which is why today's 10:52 report states the UK is following Thailand's lead in mixing vaccines

I wonder what was being reported at 10:53, 10:54, etc. Just so many versions of the truth. As I said earlier, one of them is bound to be right - all bases are covered.

While I agree with you on the whole 'Thai way' thing and pressure from the junta to conform and push only their dialogue, I don't believe the entire Thai covid research team will be working in unison with the junta. Though they may be somewhat muzzled in what they can say, I'm sure in the lab they are looking at results and results alone.

Maybe I'm being naive.

"why do they continue to buy Sinovac when AZ costs a fraction of the price?"

No one has mentioned the fact that CP have a 15% stake in Sinocrap

There is also a DW report a day or so ago about the risk of new variants, focusing on Delta, especially in Indonesia.

Asian, yes. With the top 6 countries with the highest IQ being:
Singapore,
Hong Kong,
South Korea,
Japan,
China,
and Taiwan.

The UK comes in at No. 15 with an IQ=100

The US at 32 with an IQ=98

Thailand positioned at 58 with an IQ=91

At the bottom position 184 is Equatorial Guinea with an IQ=59

Possibly 2 things inhibited original vaccine orders from abroad: UKBA, FCPA (for US). No such consideration for China.

The only (major) difference is that the UK are hardly likely to mix and match with Sinovac!!

Do you really think they want to find a cure for the flu when they can sell flu vaccines year after year! Covid is just another huge business opportunity - imagine if the worlds population requires a covid booster jab every six months for the next twenty years......the pharmaceutical sector is a very cynical and commercially driven business sector.
What a patronizing post, do you really think you are smarter than us? Let's hope you learned something from Uncle Tel. Let me reiterate for you, there is no cure for flu the best that big pharma can do is guess about the next years flu strain and produce a vaccine.

You're obviously not reading the posts. Of course we knew, it's common knowledge. :banghead:

Apart from the obvious corruption, one of the reasons Thailand recently ordered more sinovac, is that once again, they are running out of vaccines. This reason has actually been reported, but I am not going hunting for it. But see the news from CM this morning.

Whilst they have now placed big orders for the American vaccines, their arrival is a long way off.

As for using different vaccines for a booster shot, the UK and others have talked openly of doing this. It seems to be regarded as a way of providing more complete protection. It's just that no-one else is doing this for the first two shots, but here, because of the incompetent toy soldiers that run Thailand so badly, it's a case of needs must.

I'm not sure average IQ for a country is a good indicator when we're discussing some Thai people's intelligence. We all know the majority of the Thai population goes to ramshackle huts/temples to study. And it's a shoddy education. I'd venture a guess even most the expat population offers their kids in Thailand a shoddy education such are the fees for a good school.

Those with money are usually very well educated. And some incredibly smart. Generally done a lot of their higher education abroad.

And those are the doctors in question. Not all of them, sure.

Not sure if a chart has been posted recently but here's one dated August 9th for vaccine efficacy from healthdata.org.

I'm double jabbed with Pfizer which scores well but some studies are now saying it's crap after 6 months (in a sense).

Forever changing data. :banghead:
