It's not a blind spot with Terry, Benitez likes a high pressing game, as did AVB. He suited Mourinho as he's a negative Manager, plays shit on a stick Football. Terry has been a great defender but AVB and Benitez have seen he's not what he was.
I'll side with them.
Amazing what Lampard has achieved, his goal scoring is ridiculous, never in the class of Vieira, Gerrard, Scholes etc for me though. Can ricochet a ball goalwards like nobody's business though.

Found this interesting.
The greatest trick Ferguson ever pulled was convincing his contemporaries that they should be grateful to him while he weakened their own chance of success. I remember one of my managers waving a bound A4 booklet in the air during a team meeting and saying: "I've phoned Alex up and he's sent me United's scouting report (on Chelsea, who we were playing that weekend)." He seemed blissfully unaware that if Fergie was doing it for him, then in all likelihood he was probably doing it for everyone else, too. The problem was that our manager refused to see past the fact that, in his eyes, Ferguson had done him a personal favour.

Honestly BaaBaa, out of the three managers that you mention above, who by a very long mile, is the most successful?BaaBaa. wrote:It's not a blind spot with Terry, Benitez likes a high pressing game, as did AVB. He suited Mourinho as he's a negative Manager, plays shit on a stick Football.

Cahill today, 3rd best. Luiz is always an adventure and often out of position and that has cost goals this season. Ivanovic is up there with Terry. Terry never looks out of place wherever he plays and whoever he plays alongside. That in itself is a skill.

Re: Premier League 2012-2013
One game I recall from when I was a kid was this, which carries a certain poingancy. considering what Lamps did today:
Aston Villa (0) 2 Chelsea (4) 6
Date: Saturday, 17th September 1966
Football League Division 1
Venue: Villa Park
Attendance: 18,233
Referee: RF Pritchard (Salisbury)
Aston Villa: Withers, Wright, Aitken, Tindall, Sleeuwenhoek, Deakin, MacLeod, Park, Hateley, Chatterley, Scott
Scorers MacLeod 55, Hateley 56
Manager Dick Taylor
Chelsea: 1 Peter Bonetti, 2 Joe Kirkup, 3 Eddie McCreadie, 4 John Hollins, 5 Marvin Hinton, 6 Ron Harris, 7 John Boyle, 8 George Graham, 9 Peter Osgood, 10 Charlie Cooke, 11 Bobby Tambling (12 Alan Harris 75)
Scorers Tambling 10, Boyle 16, Tambling 38, Tambling 42, Tambling 69, Tambling 76
Manager Tommy Docherty
Bobby Tambling was an outstanding player!
Film of this game is available, but not on you tube. I have it on an old MOTD video.

Shitcoat hasn't managed Terry for years though.caller wrote:Honestly BaaBaa, out of the three managers that you mention above, who by a very long mile, is the most successful?BaaBaa. wrote:It's not a blind spot with Terry, Benitez likes a high pressing game, as did AVB. Terry, at his peak, I rated very highly, but the fact is that he's to slow for a high line. Managers shouldn't be altering their gameplan just to keep the knuckle dragging JT fans happy.
Anyway, your man Rafa has taken you from a 6th place side to 3rd.

Congratulations to Chelsea on CL qualification. Did it the hard way with all the games they had.
A little miffed over the display of Man U which meant that it didn't go to the wire with 3 teams.

Think you'll manage it Jimmy? What are Spurs and Arsenal fixtures?JimmyGreaves wrote:Congratulations to Chelsea on CL qualification. Did it the hard way with all the games they had.

Re: Premier League 2012-2013
We Arsenal fans always go quiet at this time of year, boasting of what you will achieve, then failing miserably, makes you look very stupid. Perhaps HHAD Spuds learnt this lesson after last year. Anyway, Wigan, as proved again yesterday, are a good side and they deserve to be in the Premiership over the likes of that bunch of long-ball thugs, Stoke. I wish them well, except on Tuesday of course.

And rightly so, you've won nowt for 8 years.arcadianagain wrote:We Arsenal fans always go quiet at this time of year, boasting of what you will achieve, then failing miserably, makes you look very stupid.

Re: Premier League 2012-2013
The game changer in the Villa v Chelsea game was the sending off of Beneteke but the ref had little option after sending Ramires off for something similar earlier.
Well done to Lampard for the record. He's been a great servant for Chelsea and I think he's still got a couple of seasons left in him.
Bound to be emotional scenes at Old Trafford later.....fans of all clubs shedding tears, but not all for the same reason !

Come on Wigan/Newcastle both of you can do it!

Well certainly the pressure switches to Arsenal now. Another red card for Mr Adams being, as per yesterday, the game changer.
