It is a terrible shame for Wayne Barnes that England are in the final as he is the outstanding referee in the tournament.

This is one of those sport's photos for the ages. The departing Captain and the retiring Manager sharing the moment with the other team looking on, and you know exactly what is in their minds and hearts. Really beautiful IMO.

Does anybody really care about who wins/looses the 3rd place playoff, except for the player's mothers.
I guess it does give the guys who have sat on the bench for the whole tournament a game.

We did in Wales - not the result we wanted though...... And I guess not the result you wanted in the following match either!

Guess you are not laughing at the result of the final BB?

Seriously, bad luck - and this from a Welshman!

No luck involved, England were not good enough. Disappointing, but the brown stuff happens.

England 2nd in the World Cup Final, Ratchaburi 2nd in the FA Cup Final, but thankfully god intervened and blew the roof off Plymouth Argyle's stadium to prevent the hattrick, when the game was postponed.

Unfortunately, England were rubbish on the day. Any of the last 8 would have beaten that team. Couldn't pass the ball, couldn't catch the ball, couldn't scrum, couldn't ...

Maybe nerves took hold - who knows? A shadow of the team from the week before. Hats off to 'em though for getting this far. Unlike the footy team, they beat some bloody good teams on their journey.

South Africa were excellent. Deserved winners.

On to the Euros 2020.

It is in response to pharvey's remark about luck, which also had nothing to do with rugby. No luck was involved in England's defeat, they were hammered. As the remark was addressed directly to me, as is this one, it would be rude not to respond.
