Yes, posted early by mistake, I hadn't actually finished what I intended to write, so quite a bit of editing.

A somewhat scathing article directed at the FA, Hodgson and the team. :( I assume most or all of the British papers this morning are printing the same.

Yeah, looks like it's time to start pretending Andy Murray isn't Scottish again...

What are the odds for Italy to be going home next week?

Oops, just realised I only corrected one 'Suarez' - I was in a rush, had to go and see a man about a watch!

Did anyone see the Italy - Costa Rica game? Scary to see how inept the Italians were. Useless is not to strong a word, which kind of put's our performance against them in perspective. They all played as if nothing was riding on the game and they had all been out on the lash last night. I'd be amazed if they get a result against Uruguay.

So England on the way home (do we need to play the last game?) and probably Italy as well.

The Scot in the above photo may reflect that not one of the Scottish team could get into the England side.

Well on the plus side, England fans have been waiting a long time for them to start playing like Spain.

Pity they didn't focus more on the technical deficiencies. Lack of talent, organization (on the field) and discipline. Rooney was a frustrated cart-horse in the last World Cup, where his reputation clearly outshone his ability. One goal in the finals this time hardly makes you a world-beater. And he's our best player? Other teams make up for a lack of individual stars by being highly organized and not allowing opposing teams with stars to settle. Not us. We allowed too much space and time.

It is staggering that incredible salaries are given to these 'professionals' who are simply mediocre.

If Germany and Holland can produce free-flowing attacking football, why can't we?

I am an England fan but firstly a football fan. The World Cup has a long way to go with good teams playing great football. I am looking forward to what should be some quality duels in the next few weeks. I am not going to waste any more of my time deciding where it all went wrong, that is for the FA to sort out. England v Costa Rica is still worth watching, actually going to enjoy that but for me there are some mouth watering games coming up. Exciting times for a football fan.

Appears Italy can only win against minor countries nowadays. They cannot beat the tougher opponents.
Their last three matches:

Italy - Luxemburg 1 - 1
England - Italy 1 - 2
Italy - Costa Rica 0 - 1 :run:
We are all living in 'the good old days' of the future.

I would keep an eye to the sky when passing condo buildings, don't want to get hit by a stray England fan attempting a swallow dive from up above.
