I just read about the Pfizer delivery to Huahin so rechecked on that odd expatvac email some of us received earlier today.
Turned out that K Kamonchanok Leseananprecha is in Computer Ops at Hua Hin hospital.
She has since separately emailed me to tell me the location for my vaccination tomorrow (Bang Saphan hospital). I completed the google form and got a simple confirmation. No requests for money or whatever!

I got my email from her yesterday as well, having registered on August 1st. I showed up at 7am with the email and my passport. I went through three different checkpoints and then sat in a queue for my first jab. I got the jab at 8:05 and was allowed to leave exactly 30 minutes later. My second jab will be given on September 16. There was one guy who showed up without the email confirmation. He was not in the hospital database, so he was turned away. There was another guy who did have an email, but he too was not in the database for some reason, and he was turned away.
I had mine at Bang Saphan at about 9.15. A very quick and painless process (in every sense). Only about 15-20 people there. And yes, it was Pfizer. Second jab due on 14 Sept

I just had a call from Pranburi Hospital, that I could have a Pfizer vaccine today. But i was at Medpark Bangkok last week, so I can not use it. They should not make the appointment at such short notice.

Wow, I didn't realise the vaccine world revolves around you. Did you consider that they might have had some no shows and were trying to accommodate those waiting?

It depends which vaccine you're referring to. For some, the original recommendation was 3 weeks between jabs - but not all.
Interestingly enough, for some where the original regimen called for a 3 week gap (e.g. Pfizer) studies have shown that a longer gap leads to higher antibody levels.

8 weeks between jabs is seen as the sweet spot for Pfizer (for older people), 10 or 12 is even better but also increases the time during which you are underprotected only having one jab. Anyway, We must accept 3 weeks and be grateful to get it.

Some protection better than none.
The real protection will come with the 3rd & 4th jabs
In the meantime the country is following its 'open for tourism' agenda and the vaccination programme is a huge part of that

Sounds like maybe you're an anti-vaxxer?
Anyway, yes I believe that any vaccination will reduce symptoms to a less dangerous degree (depending on which vaccine and the number of jabs), and there is mounting evidence that some jabs give some protection against even catching the virus. The science is still horribly vague, but I definitely wanted to be vaccinated.

I'm not an "anti-vaxxer." I was asking a question. There are enough conflicting reports about the various vaccines, what they do, and the results of having them that I question everything about them. Particularly in Thailand, where I don't believe anything the govt. says about anything, especially when they start using numbers to prove their points. If you're happy with the results of your vaccination, that's all that matters.

There are about 10 different channels and walk-ins for vaccination registration and nothing is coordinated. So I went to Bangkok last week to get a Pfizer shot and today I got a phone call from Pranburi Hospital that I could get the same in 3 km distance instead of 250 km.

mai bpen rai, at least you got vaccinated which is the main thing, and, maybe, you can get the 2nd shot from Pranburi Hospital which will save you a trip to BKK
Give them a call and find out

My gang got our 1st dose of AZ courtesy of BCCT today with the 2nd shot in 12 weeks. I must say that the organisational and professionalism was 1st class.
Sod's law that they're throwing Pfizer around locally now.
