Some big changes - Jamie Robberts leaves Bath to join the Stormers. Good for him IMHO, always wanted to be involved with the Southern Hemisphere - has a great deal to offer the Stormers.

Martyn Phillips leaves WRU???!! https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rug ... s-17580106. Did a lot of good for the national team, but the WRU and MP has hurt the regional teams. Wales (or Scotland, or Ireland) have nowhere near the money that the English RU have - things need to change.

On a positive side, we (Wales) have some new lads under Pivac - a couple our dear English neighbours are pi$$ed off with us "stealing" - but let's look at the English team (or Irish for that!).

Have to watch out for France this year, and I think the first weekend - France vs England could be a deciding point.

Nevertheless, we'll (Wales) still keep our title - it is ours after all.... :neener:

I`m just watching the Racing v Saracens match on a French channel, the commentators are so biased. At least in the UK commentators pretend to be neutral, except the Welsh ones anyway!

I see that the English and European champions,Saracens, are to be relegated from the Premiership at the end of the season due to financial irregularities.
A bit of a surprise that.....

Complete and utter cheating by Saracens - should be barred from all competitions and give back the trophies won over the past 3 years - they are an absolute disgrace. Now talk of them trying to join the Pro14 (Celtic League) - feck off you English cheating Barstewards! No league needs you or wants you.

At least the Welsh don't feckin' cheat.... Then again, we don't have enough money to break the salary cap...  On commentating, really? I couldn't give enough examples of Welsh and Scottish hatred from the English - all good though, we'll stuff you this season as well. :D

Most biased commentators IMHO have always been southern hemisphere - Australians especially.

[EDIT] Just as an edit, how far will the (English) Rugby Union go to save their players and make sure (a) They are available for selection & (b) Playing "Top Class" rugby? They all knew they were breaking the rules - they should all be punished.

How can you say that? I've never heard anything so outrageous. Nobody could be more objective than Brian Moore...

Now you're just being silly, there's no chance of the players being punished!
Having said that, it will be very interesting to see how many of them end up playing in a lower division! They might just swallow that bitter pill for one season.

Talking of cheating, I was watching Quins v. Clermont the other day, and there was some very dubious behaviour from the French, with their physio blatantly trying to distract the kicker as he went for a conversion, and then a dodgy 'injury' to their prop in the last scrum of the game.

Yes, but the French aren't far behind! Of course, you have to watch in French to know that...

Playing in the lower division is exactly my point - Whilst there are no rules precluding selecting Championship players for England, playing a significantly poorer standard of rugby in the second tier would not be great preparation preparation for the 6 Nations/international rugby - let alone the Lions in 2021.

Oh the French are quite the experts in the art of cheating, foul play etc., etc....

Well, now that I'm about to fall off my soap box I'd have to admit we have 1 or 2 of our own in Wales.....

pharvey wrote: Sun Dec 08, 2019 6:39 pm OK, maybe a tad early and still a couple of months away, but the 6 Nations is coming!! :thumb:

Will be an interesting tournament this time around IMO, but with Wales away to both The Lillywhites and The Boys in Green, it'll be tough for us....... but of course victorious........ AGAIN! :)

Will also be interesting to see how Ireland fare after the retirement of Rory Best - incredible player and great captain.

Anywho, for those interested in joining the HHF 6 Nations 2020 League (who haven't already been invited by Email), details for joining are below: -

I'm getting really frustrated watching Ireland vs Scotland (currently 16-9 with 20mins left). I've got no horse in this race, but I'd like to see the Scots up their game a bit. Scotland ought to be winning this, but every time they look like scoring a try (about 4 or 5 times) they make a silly error!
