I know a sin bin rule already exists for a yellow card, but this would be a halfway house between yellow and red - I’d definitely like to see this in football (Wendyball)

Must admit I have to agree - the "Orange Card" does sound good - as you say, a "Halfway House". My only concern is that it could give "weak ref's" a way out of a difficult decision. That said, 20 minutes with a man down would make a huge difference. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Also agree that a "Sin-Bin" should be introduced into WB - and far tougher penalties for players abusing the ref. Continual abuse of the ref in rugby and you've likely lost your team the game..... Deservedly so.

None today. NZ vs NZ seem to be pretty civil affairs. Perhaps with tomorrow's match?

Good game, some general observations.... To be expected sloppiness, poor discipline and needless penalties, and signs of fitness problems. A few players actually looked overweight from what they looked like 3 months ago.

Tomorrow's match may have the same problems, although it's billed as a much more special affair with a much larger crowd. Both teams should be up for it.

After two games in, things should settle down IMO.

You'll certainly see fitness issues in many sports after various lock-downs. Taking rugby for example, you can't keep to full match fitness without the club/national training facilities and equipment or full contact training. Diets? I'm sure will be controlled as best possible, but with weeks/months without the club environment?

Training facilities in the modern game are a long way away from the simple weights and treadmills of old - be fair, the likes of Cryotherapy is normal these days (used to be beer to recover)!

Certainly remember the orange!!

[EDIT] Then again, only a quarter - WTF, even then the English RU were richer!! We used to have to use the orange peel as a gum-shield in the 2nd Half (played without in the 1st)

You haven't played real rugby until you've played in the scrum against the Met Police 3rd XV... could have used a gumshield - and a box!

A quite incredible few minutes of action from the Highlanders vs Chiefs match played back in 2013 - this was Round 2 of the competition: -
