PRAYUT: PROTEST WILL LEAD TO 2ND WAVE OF VIRUS OUTBREAK
PM Prayut Chan-o-cha warned the nation Thursday that an upcoming anti-government demonstration may result in a surge in coronavirus cases.
Prayut delivered the warning in a televised broadcast at 6pm, two days ahead of the major protest. The Prime Minister said the protests could damage the gains achieved by doctors and nurses who worked hard to contain the virus.
“I would like to take this chance to tell various groups that want to protest for various reasons, that protesting is exponentially multiplying the risk of infection and will create a new wave of COVID infection in Thailand,” PM Prayut said in a recorded speech.
“You are risking destroying the livelihoods of tens of millions of Thais,” he went on.
“Gathering risks a second wave and will have devastating effects that will multiply the economic problems of the country to levels that have never been seen in my time. Think about this.”

But but but ... Thailand doesn't have any Covid ... does it? This guy isn't the sharpest tool in the box, that sounds like something Trump would come out with.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
So any bets that a new outbreak occurs from the protests??

"The Joint Biosecurity Centre has recommended the Covid-19 alert level for the UK be increased to Level 4, meaning transmission of the virus is “high or rising exponentially”, the UK’s chief medical officers have said.
That is the first time the alert level has been raised, not lowered, since the system was set up in May."

Sorry about that. I copied the link from the post I did last month. Looks like it copied the display text rather than the actual link. Hopefully it's right this time.Big Boy wrote:Unfortunately, your link gives me:

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Just an FYI at this point, as I forgot to record the link yesterday.
They are finding that people who have had Dengue Fever in the past have some kind of immunity against Covid-19, and all the SARS type viruses it seems. It didn't say how long ago one had Dengue for this to be true.
I'll keep an eye open for the article and others on the same subject. You all please do the same and post if you find anything.

Here's something about it. Note the part in the video where it says "countries with high Dengue exposure could be a reason why Covid is not as prevalent..." and "antibodies caused by past dengue infection could show a positive test for Covid 19...."
