I dont even like getting in lifts at the moment. I wouldn't be happy if someone in the lift wasn't wearing a mask. Luckily that won't happen here.
At the condo in Bkk we are on the 8th floor. You have to apply sanitiser before getting in the lift and then use tissue paper to press the lift controls, then throw that in the bin provided. All seems sensible to me.

All seems OTT to me ...
IMHO
Fine. I doubt that concerns the people that live here. It's a local rule introduced with the agreement of residents after the onset of covid. I have yet to see anyone flout it.
Wouldn't common sense, personal hygiene (pre-covid) accomplish the same thing, aside from the mask wearing.
Do you really need sanitizer, tissue to push the button ? Did people do that pre-covid, or simply wash there hands when getting home / before eating. Does the Gulf need another plastic bag of trash dumped in it, or burned elsewhere.
MSM again, scaring people into million dollar sales / profits for things nobody needs. Wouldn't wearing disposable gloves be more practical, as ridiculous as that is also.
Or just do what's been done almost forever, since the discovery of contagions, just wash your hands now and then.

Let them be. Its their lives and their decisions. It suits them. They're not interested in your theories. Other condos I have visited here have sanitiser in the lifts to use after pressing buttons. Each to their own.
What boils my piss is all these people hiding behind "my civil rights and civil liberties", forgetting their civic duty and responsibilities to themselves AND others. Bunch of twunts!
I saw a documentary years ago about a fictional flu pandemic and how quickly it could spread by touching surfaces such as handrails and elevator buttons. Didn't bother me so much at the time but at least I stored that information away and when the time came that we actually were in a pandemic I became so aware of trying not to touch surfaces whilst unsanitized. It took some time here but eventually even the mon n pop stores had hand sanitizer available.

With new technology, you'll be able to operate an elevator via your smartphone and never have to touch anything. Don't have a smartphone? Take the stairs.
This would also work in buildings with doors that you push open. Taxis too. Eventually, you won't have to touch anything or anyone. Send hugs and kisses via your smartphone. The possibilities are endless.
The following has been posted by the National News Bureau today. Is it true, or fake news? If true news, what about the reports we've all heard about people being fined for not wearing masks? Confused!!!
Thailand's Public Health Minister confirmed that there are no laws forcing people to wear face masks, but he also sought cooperation from all parties, including Thai citizens and overseas tourists, in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Concerning warnings from the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) that people might be fined for not wearing a face mask, Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated that the Ministry of Public Health and related agencies have not reported this and the matter is still under consideration.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the suggestion is beneficial as the most effective prevention protocol, but it should first be evaluated by all parties, emphasizing that enforcement is unnecessary if everyone cooperates in adhering to the prevention measures. He is concerned, however, about some international tourists who do not wear face masks while in Thailand and stated that the ministry will discuss the problem with the CCSA. He understands that the practice may not be used in other countries, but he encourages them to comply with the country's public health regulations.
When asked if stricter measures would be enforced if infection cases reached 10,000, the Public Health Minister responded that the situation is still within the Department of Disease Control's epidemiological scenarios, with severe cases not increasing and more people getting vaccinated, and that adjustments will not be made at this time. Nonetheless, he asked all parties to be cautious and work together to prevent and contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
Isn't it covered in the emergency decree? Wasn't the PM himself fined early on? This report is in English so is it a good translation of original Thai? Does the article refer to masks everywhere or just when outside? I recall it being stated that masks needn't be worn when exercising.
I always wear a mask when I leave the house, even though I know that it will not protect me from Covid and it will not protect anyone else if I have Covid. I even wear one when outside, even though I know there is no point in doing so other than avoiding a fine. I shall always obey the law, even though I know the law is useless and stupid. See how well-trained humans can become.
Sit, good boy.
