When you do your Google search nil, do you start it off by asking “list all negative posts about COVID-19 ..................?

Of course the search for a COVID vaccine is subject to considerable challenges, but if there was ever a case of a glass being “half empty or half full”, we know where you sit!!

As I am in the danger age area I shall certainly take the vaccine ( from Oxford) earlier if at all possible - positive thinking I like and follow

And there's the rub... I have no idea of your age or state of health, but if you are youngish and reasonably fit & healthy, that percentage may well be correct. Many people on this forum, however, are older and suffering from medical conditions that make them (us) more vulnerable to Covid, so that percentage would be much higher, which is reflected by the level of concern.

I'm not worried about catching Covid but if a vaccine came with a certificate that allowed travel again, I would take one today!

I watched a documentary today about the Spanish flu, primarily in the UK. The film was made before this current pandemic, somewhere around 2017-18, and what they were saying and predicting about a future pandemic and what needed to be done so as to not repeat the mistakes of the Spanish Flu pandemic was actually scary. They basically predicted everything that is happening now, including what would happen if people didn't take it seriously and follow precautions. Spooky, really spooky.

Much of that was reiterated in the new documentary "All Under Control".

Encouraging but not conclusive. There are other recent studies that contradict that particular study.
It doesn't mention whether asymptomatic subjects were studied. Other studies have found that antibody production equates to the severity of the infection. Severe cases produced more antibodies than, at the other end of the scale, asymptomatic cases. In some of the asymptomatic cases, the antibodies were so low as to be undetected.

We're not out of the woods yet.

Coronavirus: France Reports More Than 30,000 New Infections

"France has reported a large jump in new Covid-19 cases ahead of a night-time curfew being imposed on Paris and eight other cities on Saturday.

A further 30,621 infections were confirmed on Thursday, up from 22,591 the day before.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that tough restrictions are "absolutely necessary" to save lives.

Millions in Europe have been told they must live under strict new measures as governments battle a second wave.

From Saturday, socialising indoors will be banned in London, as the UK capital and other areas of England will be put under a higher Covid alert.

As well as France, Italy, Poland and Germany all recorded their largest daily rise in new cases on Thursday since mass testing began.

New restrictions were announced on Wednesday by President Emmanuel Macron to combat the soaring infection rate across France.

Residents of Paris, its suburbs and eight other cities including Marseille and Lyon will not be able to leave their homes without "valid" reason between 21:00 and 06:00 from Saturday for at least four weeks. Mr Macron said he aimed to reduce the daily rise in cases to 3,000."
