Well I’m absolutely convinced that my experience was nothing to do with luck of the draw, simply a result of the Government implementing a temporary rule change to avoid large numbers having to queue at the immigration offices and increase the risk of spreading COVID-19

Some last minute questions pop up anyway and as always! Do Hua Hin immigration require photo of the applicant outside their house/condo and a hand drawn map to their home? Btw,questions are regarding extension based on retirement.
Thank you

I've renewed 8 times at Hua Hin and have never been asked for a photo of the applicant outside their house/condo and a hand drawn map to their home. However, I know others who have needed it. Actually, I think the photo of the applicant outside their house/condo is for marriage extensions.
As with all Immigration matters, it will depend upon who you have opposite you on the day.

When I had a retirement visa, no photos in or out of the house were needed, just 2 photos of me. When I switched to a marriage visa I needed 2 photos, with wife, outside and inside. Then the osifier came to the house and took photos outside and inside.Big Boy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 5:57 pm I've renewed 8 times at Hua Hin and have never been asked for a photo of the applicant outside their house/condo and a hand drawn map to their home. All the paper work for a marriage visa is the Punishment for marrying a Thai.

Okay, thank you. In case the one "opposite me" not have the day I can always print a "selfie" from outside the condo.

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Allow me a couple additional question regarding extension and re-entry permit. Do Prachuabkhirikhan Immigration issue the re-entry permit at the same day as the extension or do I have to do that later? Plus something I always forget on the re-entry application its a question about last visa/arrival in Thailand which I guess for many is two very different days! Do I write the last arrival which was last year or the date I arrived after I got the the initial Non Immigrant O visa some 9-10 years ago?
Thank you

Yes, if you want a re=entry permit they will issue it at the same time as your visa extension. I always (not very often) enter the date of the last entry. Its been accepted, but somebody else will confirm if it is correct.

Thank you for replying. I think previously I have done that also but I do not remember year for year so note to self "write down for every year what Immigration demand and copies of all documents needed"
hah

Done for another year. (Retirement)
Btw, gave them a picture outside the abode and a hand drawn map and they kept it. No missing or demand for extra copies of anything, a first for me.

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Had a pleasant surprise at Imm today when renewing my retirement extension.
The officer was stamping my passport and told me he'd given me until 26th September because of covid. Well, I thought he meant 26th Sept this year and was about to get shirty but he pointed out that he'd given me until 26th Sept 2021 - ie a year from the end of the amnesty (for now). As my renewal date has always been September 11th, I was most grateful to get an extra 15 days.
There were no surprises - I do mine by income. The only thing I'd forgotten to photocopy were the stamps at the beginning of the passport that were put in when I changed it and contained details of the original Non O visa from 12 years ago and that stupid " 24 hour notification of returning to the province after being abroad" - I forget the TM number. That piece of paper is now 4 or 5 years old and I've been out the country many times since then but the officer didn't bat an eyelid when he re-stapled it into the passport.

Did my visa extension this motning although not due till 26/9. It was mobbed. Very few extensions being asked for but heaving with agents. These people do not join the cue but go straight to the desk where they are given immediate attention. I was next in the que but had to wait when suuccesive agents were attended to. I counedt seven in succession before myir ritation was notiiced and i was assigned and officer who was doing 90day reports. He went thro, my submission which was faultless thanks to the info from this forum. I was about 1 3/4 hours in total but about 10mins for the actual extension to be issued. All done with the utmost curtisy. Pity about these agents

Does anyone know how soon I can renew my Retirement Visa, is it 30 or 45 days before it expires.

Although I’ve never tried it as early, it should be up to 45 daysGroodman wrote:Does anyone know how soon I can renew my Retirement Visa, is it 30 or 45 days before it expires.
