One (1) person has recorded on the poll that he/she has had Moderna as their 2nd shot. If still reading in, can you tell us if you had any reaction to the Moderna vaccine, and what it was?

My wife is lined up to begin her Moderna injections soon, and it would be good to know if the reaction after the 2nd shot is similar to the fatigue people experience after the Pfizer 2nd shot, and I think the Astra 2nd shot as well? Thanks.

It was I who ticked Moderna as the title is "have or will receive"
My husband, who had 2 shots of AstraZeneca on 1st of July and 23rd of September, and I, received 1 shot of Johnson and Johnson on 29th of June, will both get a 1st shot of Moderna tomorrow (2nd one planned 28 days later)
Will let you know about side effects and reactions

The only thing is that as with the other vaccines, some people get this reaction, some get something else and some get no reaction at all, so just one result will not help an awful lot. Sorry for being negative!!

Had Moderna shot at 13:30 this afternoon and so far no side effects, no reactions, let's hope it stays that way (have all the painkillers ready though )
But bear in mind that each person reacts differently and it also depends on how the nurse gives the jab

Shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) is a rare complication of incorrect vaccine administration, when the vaccine is given too high into the shoulder joint. This can cause shoulder pain and restricted range of movement. Diagnoses include bursitis, tendinitis and rotator cuff tears.

All down to training.

Yes, there's several articles about injections into the shoulder "bursa sac" which is really a bad thing to do.

Thanks again. Yes, everyone reacts differently but there are commonalities, especially with Pfizer #2 that family and friends have experienced. All of them had moderate to severe fatigue for a day or two, and headache for a day or two. Half had a low grade fever.

Actually I got my Pfizer #2 seven hours ago and so far all is fine. We'll see in the morning?

Edit: Concerning Moderna, you're the only one who I know who has had it, so it's all new territory, and any commonalities unknown at present.

My daughter here (16) had her Pfizer #2 on Monday and just today she has snapped out of her fatigue. The headache stopped last night. Another thing that she would kill me if she read this.....her period stopped suddenly after only two days, and hours after she had the Pfizer #2. There are articles concerning teenage girls that this happens to in several different forms i.e.,stops, misses completely, starts unexpectedly later on mid cycle etc.

The side effects keep me from getting vaccinated. I can't take pain meds and don't relish the thought of several days of headaches.

I think most of it is auto suggestion. Yes, I also sat there waiting for the time-bomb to go off each time. I read the local Covid deaths most days, and there are so many saying the same as you. Didn't get vaccinated because...................................

"Auto suggestion" my arse, at least concerning Pfizer #2. I was fine for 18 hours after the shot yesterday and thought it wasn't a big deal. Then the suddenness of the aches/pain/fever felt like some kind of sudden attack. Within 5 minutes fine to not fine. Now, 6 hours after that the fever is reduced a little and the aches/pains not as severe. No idea how this will play out over the next day, but it's not a pleasant experience.

Of course there will be some genuine reaction, but I have seen a lot where people just sit and wait.

A couple of elderly friends (yes, even older than me) were very apprehensive, and started playing the reactions card. I asked them what sort of reactions they were expecting - they'd heard about headaches. Both suffer from migraine from time to time, so I asked how would they know?

OK, I've been very lucky with vaccine after effects all my life. Many aren't. However, I've seen people with this vaccine taking 9 days off, whilst waiting for a twinge that never materialises. I certainly don't see it as a reason for not being vaccinated.

I may have mentioned this before. I was unwell for 2/3 days after my first AZ shot, as was my daughter, my son and my sister. Strangely enough, my mother who is 96 with several ongoing ailments had zero reaction from neither of her shots.

Read the below. It's one of many articles that explains reactions, age association with some, reactions are good as it shows your body is reacting to what it's supposed to react to....etc.

An interesting point is that in many older people there is no reaction or very little, because their immune system isn't working as it should.

Yes, but none of us are getting any younger. I get headaches and other aches all of the time (nothing serious), and yes, I had a few afterwards. However, I'm not saying it was because of the vaccine. Yes, it might have been, but it was nothing untoward. I did not sit around for 9 days like Hua Hin's kids are being instructed just in case something happens.
