28 provinces. Just like those proposed to be red zones in the BP article.

The situation as of midnight last night. 0 cases in Prachuap. I ask again why we are in the Red Zone? I hope when the Governor issues his restrictions today, he takes that into account, else it becomes a complete farce.

May have something to do with the porous Burma border, where we live it is just 20km away and you can literally walk across it with no checks if you know the right places. In Thapsake and Huay Yang the border is even closer, again with no official checks or crossings.
There have been no moves to control this border or the flow of migrant workers as the muppets in charge believe that banning beer sales will stop the virus.

Thanks for the information.
It's good to see the breakdown by province. Much appreciated.

Yes, I was sent that same information at 8am this morning, so it seems consistent. Bound to happen.

Here we go again over here. On-line learning and the whole bit.
The Ministry of Public Health will ask the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to impose lockdown restrictions on the eastern provinces of Rayong, Chon Buri and Chanthaburi for 28 days to stop the continuing surge of Covid-19 infections.
Deputy Minister Sathit Pitutecha on Saturday said the measure is necessary because many people considered at risk of contracting the disease have concealed their involvement in activities while others have refused to report to health officials for screening.
Mr Sathit said most infections in the three provinces are linked to illegal gambling dens.
The proposed lockdown measures would include travel restrictions to prevent people in the three provinces from leaving the areas unless doing so is absolutely necessary, Mr Sathit said.
He said the ministry also plans to ask the CCSA to set up checkpoints along roads linking the three provinces to Bangkok and other regions such as the Burapha Withi Expressway and a highway in Prachin Buri.
The deputy public health minister was in Chon Buri province's Phra Maha Jetsadaratchao camp on Saturday to receive the delivery of a field hospital from the Royal Thai Navy (RTN).
The facility was set up with 174 beds to accommodate Covid-19 in-patients after the provincial hospital became overwhelmed.
Navy chief Chatchai Sriworakhan said the RTN realises the severity of the situation at the moment, so has prepared areas in the Phra Maha Jetsadaratchao camp to support the Ministry of Public Health and other government agencies.
"We have transformed our ERC building of the Tank Battalion at Phra Maha Jetsadaratchao camp in Chon Buri into a field hospital," he said.
Adm Chatchai said the field hospital will focus on treating patients with mild symptoms and those already receiving treatment from main hospitals.
"After receiving the initial treatment from main hospitals, patients will be sent to the field hospital," he said.
"Patients will be observed at the field hospital and have to stay until test results are negative. If their condition turns out to be too severe, they will be sent back to main hospitals."

A lot of that is contradicted in today's daily brief, where it is explained why we should not be using the term lockdown, and it also explains how field hospitals will be used.

When no one else is allowing flights in from the UK, why would Thailand accept them? Oh wait, I forgot, this is the land of everything done backwards.

It would be nice if somebody issued a clear and concise set of what we can and can't do. Most information is issued in Thai, and as a photo. Most of us have to resort to an OCR translation, which is often at least partially incorrect. Are the rules available to read by mere plebs?
Latest advice is supposed to be available in English on the TAT News page, but that is very high level.

My opinion this time around it's turning into a real cock-up. They've relinquished central control for the most part and delegated to the individual provincial governors. Recipe for disaster and mixed communications for something this serious.
Planning and execution worked well, very well, last spring. Why screw around with success?!

if it doesn't work well, it provides the excuse to say, I didn't do it, it's not my fault. If it works out well, the central committee can say, see, our ideas are sound. It's called CYA.

Pumpkinhead Cha cha is following Trump's example in shirking responsibility by dishing it out to his underlings, ie provincial governors - he can then blame them for local outbreaks.
Regarding the bars, it appears to be up to whoever is in charge of the local police and the province and even amphur, some have been told to close regardless of whether they have hostesses, some can stay open, no consistency or logic to any of it as usual.
This will irk a few ...
British visitors to be barred from entry
The Ministry of Public Health will ask the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to defer the entry of British visitors to the country after the fast-spreading B117 strain of Covid-19 was found in four British nationals entering Thailand on Dec 21.
Department of Disease Control chief Opas Karnkawinpong said on Sunday all passengers who were on board the same flight as the four and anyone who had come into contact with them had been located, tested, and found to be clear of the virus.
Dr Opas urged the public not to panic as Thailand is familiar with the fast-spreading Covid-19 strain -- known as G-strain -- found in Myanmar migrant workers. "B117 is similar to the G-strain from Myanmar in terms of it being fast-spreading," Dr Opas said.

Another example of the reliability of Covid tests.
"Even though you've tested negative in your home country, come to Thaiand and we'll prove that you're POSITIVE!"
