I can't really comment on what is and what is not a traditional English breakfast, and I'm not even sure if it's the same or similar to a Scottish breakfast, but during my ten years in Scotland, a traditional breakfast seemed to be..................
Toast
Fried eggs/scrambled eggs, omelet
Bacon
Fried tomato
Mushrooms
Black pudding
Baked beans
Coffee
A traditional South African breakfast is basically the same, but without the black pudding. Usually there will also be a porridge served beforehand as well, although nowadays most choose the easy option and use cereals instead.
As for mixed grills................these are usually served in most restaurants and are available throughout the day. There used to be a place on the opposite side of he road to the Hilton that did a good mixed grill, but that was about 8 years ago, so I'm not sure if the place is still there.
