I've even copy and pasted, an item, place in their search engine, to look for more vendors & better price, and get 'no item available', not even the one I'm looking at. Always use Google to search an item, then at lazada co th, with the '.' and it will pull many more vendors / prices. Along with using the 'shopping' link in Google, especially after viewing all the images displayed, then click on 'view all'
Agree, also found that using Google to search for items on Laz brings up a lot more than the site itself as does typing the search in Thai. :thumb:

The major gripe I have with it (apart from all the counterfeit stuff) is it now takes more than a week to get anything delivered but I would imagine covid and state restrictions have a lot to do with that.

An update on my current woes. I have badgered the seller so much, they have finally admitted they don't have the item, and cannot get one for some time yet. They have cancelled the order.

I have written to 10 other suppliers (not one has even read my messages yet). I am asking:
If I were to order from you, 1. Do you have the item in stock? 2. Can you guarantee delivery to Hua Hin within 7 days?
I've looked again on Shopee, but can't find any with stock. One trait I see on Shopee a lot, which hopefully somebody can explain. Price is often shown as e,g, 8,999 - 9,999.

The price is set like that so that when a maximum price filter is set it is more likely to fall within the parameters and be shown in the search. Most people would set say 2,000 to 10,000 rather than 2,000 to 9.950 which would remove most of those using this practice.
It is similar to what you see worldwide with the sales spiel proclaiming 'Less than xxxxx'.
I find it better if you are using a price filter to go just below your minimum and maximum just in case you find a real bargain while removing some of the more expensive but identical items.

The problem I've found with looking for cheaper versions of the same things is that the cheaper ones are usually fakes. Items range from everything I've found: speakers to shoes to toothbrush heads to SD cards to razor blades to USB sticks and even hard drives. Laz is riddled with it now.

I'd rather pay the full whack and get the genuine article - but in Thailand there is always a premium for such.

The problem at the moment is that shopping outlets are all closed so you’re limited to the likes of Laz and Shoppee unless you can find a dealer that’s offering a direct shipping service

I think a lot of the timing, depends on what is ordered. I've noticed in the shipping details, items sitting in China export customs for a week or more. Then if it's large or heavy, you can expect a stop at Thai Customs.

Then today, 30 mins ago, just received small item, spare parts for RC car, that was order 6pm on the 29th. If passing through China & Thai's custom, yea, it can take way too long at times.

I try to avoid stuff from China for those reasons. This is stuff ordered locally from Bangkok still taking a week.

That's just 'sales psych 101' 😂
As some folks refuse to pay 9,000 or 10,000 for any item. Mental trickery.

Seems to happen here a lot with wife & kid. "Honey / Dad, it's only 5,000 baht" .... NO, it's 5,900, so say 6000 baht 😃
Those Jedi mind tricks only work on weak minds.

Yea, local that's a bit long. Especially when other vendors manage it in less than 48 hrs sometimes. Add a day or 2 if coming from N or NE, or an island. Anything from Krung Thep should arrive within 4 days.

No, these are the actual prices if you want to order. I'm totally baffled by the price range thingy, so avoid.

My latest order was chosen from Thailand suppliers. However, it is looking like no stock anywhere in Thailand. Wherever I order from, despite what Lazada claims, has to come from China, and it seems it still has to be manufactured.

I think I've found an alternative item, but this time 14,000฿ cheaper than the exact same item on Shopee (too good to be true? - probably). This supplier claims to have stock, and guarantees delivery within 7 days - we'll see.

This usually happens when there is more than one model option available so you have to 'Select Variant'. For instance a mobile phone can have option of memory size so 4 + 128 GB will be cheaper than a 8 + 256 GB and the price changes as you select the model. Even a different colour sometimes has a price premium. Also clothes etc can be more expensive for different sizes. *

Thank you for that explanation. I did not see any variable choices, but will go back and check now.

[Edit] Thank you, that is precisely the reason. Another of life's mysteries solved.

I ordered from a health food company in Chiang Mai, on Tues., shipped Wed., via Kerry, arrived today, Friday. It's been the same schedule for several years.

I think it depends on the amount of business a company is doing, the competence of it's employees and the oversight of management.
