Hello??

Post by Chas »

Cozza. .hello?

Are we talking about the same PAD here?

Sorry, but IMHO no educated or even slightly intelligent people would deliberately . . .and it turns out needlessly . . .. destroy the reputation of their own country and the livelihoods of countless of their fellow citizens from hotel employees to export farmers . . .and do so led by thugs.

Watch a few of the clips. We have seen them day after day on TV here. Look at the photos in the post just above yours. Thai "elite" they are most certainly not.

The Thai "elite" I know love their country and are very aware of its place and "face" in the world . . too much to ever cause it such shame. The Thai "elite" are right now busy working their collective butts off to save their businesses and do damage control.

These are hired thugs and easily manipulated uneducated housewives. (And you will remember that SA thugs played a big role in Hitler's rise to power.. .and that is as far as I go with my comparison.)

This is a very important point. At least these people have shown they will make a stand against corruption. Whether there is a more cynical reason for the uprising (by the leaders of PAD) remains to be seen.

It surprises me to see that Thais can organise themselves in this manner yet can not seem to unionise themselves to fight for low wages and working conditions. Perhaps the reason for this is as I said earlier, the Police and Army didn't want to fight against the "elite" Thais, but if these people at the airport had been poor people I think we would have seen a blood bath. If the "Reds" rebel look out for "Hell"

I'm pretty sure it was the backers of the PAD that the army and police were afraid to fight, these are truly the ones that run this country regardless of which bent politician is at the helm at the time.

PAD are calling this a victory but all they have done is started off a vicious cycle that will further divide the country. Thaksin and his cronies need to be eliminated from Thai politics in entirety, only then can new parties with new faces and new thinkers form and a new election take place. (And I'm not talking about 70% nomination - that would be as bad as PPP).

This deadlock will never break with the same crusty old political dinosaurs and megalomaniacs running the show or fighting for power. Stick high school kids in charge, they would do a better job!

Puea Thai Party to elect leader on Sunday
Puea Thai Party, seen as a spare of disbanded Thai Rak Thai Party, is scheduled on Sunday to elect its leader and 29-member executive board.
The naming of the party leader is seen as the crucial step for the nomination of the next prime minister to be voted in the House, tentatively scheduled for Monday.
On Wednesday, about 80 of 218 MPs from the disbanded ruling party have already completed the process to switch to the Puea Thai banner.
So is this Puea Thai Party going to be the new TRT/PPP ?
Please tell me it's not all going to again ........

How many Thaksin relations are left?

What would be every foreigner's worst nightmare is today's lead on the BKK Post:

Chalerm wild card for PM

Public Health Minister Chalerm Yubamrung has emerged as a possible new prime minister after Somchai Wongsawat was disqualified by the Constitution Court in the dissolution cases against his People Power party (PPP).

http://www.bangkokpost.com/031208_News/ ... news01.php

This man is the king of clampdowns, more corrupt than a Colombian cartel boss, offspring who have literally got away with murder. A sure fire way to send this country into oblivion.

Bring back the PAD!

Yes, probably will. Chalerm is set to be the new PM. Look at the Bangkok Post today about that. Google his name to see what kind of criminal thug he and his sons are. This guy is the worst of the worst. Even Samak relieved him as Interior Minister just a few months ago. If the Thai people swallow this one, I'll be amazed. Pete

Pete you are absolute right. Chalerm and his Sons are truly Thugz out of the text books I'm sure when he gets the Job as Prime Minister his Gangster reign of Government will continue.
His Sons got in trouble in 90's @ Taurus Disqotech in Bangers when they aproached a Girl who had been the daughter of a very well known Bangkok Elite. She was there with her Boyfriend when them bith apraoched her. Actual Transcript: "Hey Girl can I have your number She:" Sorry I'm allready taken!" them Youbamroong Bros: "Hey don;t you know who we are we always get what we want!!!" Girl "I guess this Time you won't" themn some major scuffles broke out between Them Youbarmroong Bros. Girls Boyfriend and Taurus Clubs Bouncers. The result the Girls Boyfriend got smacked in the face many Times so much though that the Girl complained to her father the influencial Bangkok Elite,
The next morning Chalerm was ordered to the House of the Bangkok Elite where he got an earfull from the father of the Girl. from press sorces saying it was a very heated four Eye meeting from which Chalerm came out pretty damaged

welcome to the wonderful la la land merry-go-round that is Thai politics.

it happened when TRT became PPP

now we have a repeat....PPP becomes PT

after the next election, when no doubt at all PT get caught bribing and vote buying, it will be another 12 months or so and PT will be dissolved, and reform to become......???

this will continue ad nauseam .....

sit back and enjoy the show....theres sod all as farangs we can do.

An interesting, pretty neutral article from Human Rights groups and Amnesty International -
