Hi SJ
We're actually talking about 2 different catamarans here.
I assume you're referring to the ferry between Pattaya and Hua Hin.
I've just returned from Pattaya after seeing the boat again and talking to one of the owners.
Following the sea trials, they decided to make some modifications.
The boat has now been taken out of the water for the work to be done.
The owners expect this will delay commencement of the service by around 2 months.
I'll report here as I get more news.

For those of you who enjoy a great day out, I thoroughly recommend a trip with Barry's Cruises. I arranged for myself and my children (currently on half term break) and some friends to go out on Wednesday and we had a fantastic time from start to finish.
We were picked up at 9.30am and driven down to the banks of the Pranburi river a short distance away. We boarded the lovely big twin decked boat around 10am. After about an hour at sea, during which tea, coffee and fresh fruit was served, we stopped to do some fishing. Rods and bait were supplied, and everyone caught literally loads of fish. After this, another pleasant onward journey past Sam Roi Yod National Park and then stopping for some more fishing, or the choice of boarding a speed boat to go across to Monkey Island. The children obviously chose the speed boat ride, and once on the island they were supplied with fresh fruit by Barry's staff to feed the monkeys.
Returning to the fishing boat, we were then served a delicious lunch of various Thai dishes, as well as lots of lovely fried chicken, followed by fresh fruit. There were people of all nationalities on board, including young children, and everybody enjoyed the food, there being something for everyone.
After lunch, we travelled further south to a sheltered bay and enjoyed some swimming in the crystal clear water.
Our return journey began around 4pm, arriving at Pranburi approx 6.15pm. The journey back was very pleasant and included a wonderful sunset and G&T's - a perfect end to a lovely day.
The boat is one of the most comfortable vessels I've travelled on, with fully reclining sunbeds on the top deck (under a sun canopy), and very clean western toilets!!! Ten out of ten to Barry and his team, (wife Tan, Able, and excellent staff) who really looked after us all and catered to everyone's needs.

Ventured into 'Crepes and Cruises' yesterday and was pleasantly surprised, its quite unique for Hua Hin being literally right on the beach. Most other places are either those factory style seafood joints or on piers, this one has sand underfoot!
Didn't sample the menu but there was a good selection including breakfast at 140 baht. I had a couple of cold ones and watched the boats come in, its a great little oasis in the middle of town.
