Sounds as if we're thinking of the same kid. If we are, he used to stalk my eldest granddaughter - probably chasing the farang shilling.

am I my brothers keeper?

Yes I am

Do I give to beggars?

Yes, without judgement and freely.

Do I give to organised charities?

No - because my ex wife worked for a few, and probably still does. I know how much of the money that gets contributed is wasted on inflated wage packets and junket jollies to "field trips", ill thought out IT solutions, and other waste of time stuff like pretty offices in London and Japanese Peace Lillies on every desk. OXFAM for example in one year were caught pissing over 60% of its budget up the wall on admin....wages and pretty offices and first class flights for country co-ordinators. It was an accusation that stuck in the 80s, 90s and still sticks now.

One Random Act of Kindness...... if you want to change the world do it yourself......

works for me.

That's the little scamp!

Was a cheeky little bugger but has obviously had his sense of mischief knocked out of him.

The young girl has gone the same way.

Another one who used to do the flowers is now working in a bar after a brief stint on the beach. :(

Donkey's years ago when I had the bar, the one armed lady used to send her young troops down to sell flowers.
My ex had her birthday party there. The normal Thai affair - loads of free food and unopened presents piled up on one of the tables at the end of the night. I helped her carry them indoors at the end of the night and she reckoned that one small present had gone missing.
She blamed the flower sellers as we'd given them open house on the buffet after everyone had had their fill.
I decided to try and stop the flower sellers from coming into the bar, but to no avail. They ran rings around me.
Word obviously got back to the limbless lady as she scowls at me every time she she sees me in town to this day. The incident was 10/11 years ago.

Short answer: YES.

They can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but to me and the wife they are essential and actually provide an invaluable service. And at least you know where you stand with them, they all expect the same amount.
It's currently 5% across the board, give or take.
