This probably warrants a completely separate thread, but tell us more about these proposals please. :offtopic:

What they say really ties in nicely with our 24 hour reporting thread, i.e., tracking foreigners as compared to Thais. Pete

Premises and fittings are near to completion too. Having just returned from Hua Hin I have noticed this year there are lots more OAP's rather than the younger market.
Whereabouts is it thaiboxer?

(Thanks for providing that Patters news link guys.)

Hi

It is in walking distance from the Hilton, its done over two floors. Very trendy and will be not playing any cheesy music I believe ie no birdie song for the OAP's.

Nightclub Update

Post by chrisj6001 »

Hi Guys
Once again thanks for you insight into Hua Hin all very readable and helpful.

Sandman 67 opened my eyes a bit with the scam squad/wooden place and Tut tuts along with the drunken coppers, sounds like east London in the 70’s/early 80’s, probably the best 3.5 years of my life. No wait a minute Speke in Liverpool was fun along with Dundee.

There is away to handle most things in life and that includes drunken Thai Police, if you know what you are doing.

One post was very helpful more on that later.

Now I have been back in Thailand for just two months, with a break of 6 weeks then it was a 3 month spell here, so I have been doing a lot of looking. This last weekend was an eye opener as most clubs I visited where a step back in time 30 years and there have been big changes in clubbing during that time. Yes you can run a club for both 18 and 50 year olds mixing together. With my last club we did this very successfully for 4 years and we had a brand new 2 million pound super club on our doorstep (Including Hot tubs) to contend with. It was only when I gave up. that club made any money, so its down to what you know and not who you know if you know what I mean.

I was over in Laos not so long ago and was shocked to see the standard of one club I visited, almost UK standards. I was very pleased to see that and know it could work in Thailand to. The Thais I know are really up for it?

I asked the question to you all in Hua Hin as I really do like the area and have been visiting for a long time. One thing I always found myself doing was going back to the hotel and watching BBC 24 come 23.30pm as everything looked closed. I just wanted to know what you thought.

You do not want a Pattaya that is for sure. I visited there once last September and never again, but a bit of quality nitelife can only help the town I feel. I was there for Hua Hin countdown 2010, that just needed a bit of sparkle and it would have been a fantastic night.

One thing I did notice was the amount of property up for sale or up for rent, something I have not seen here locally where I am at the moment or in any other part of Thailand I have visited. Yes I agree prices are way above norm and now in the world times have changed no more easy money, so things will in time have to change.

I am in your town in a couple of days and I know I will meet a very friendly bunch of people.

Thanks for your comments.
Keep well
Chris

The karaoke near Billy's Bar goes strong until the wee hours with a mixture of Thais and falangs of many ages. Seems to get going after midnight so there is at least one venue meeting the need.

Hi Chris

Think I know where you are coming from having, in my third childhood, been dragged to clubs in London, Cardiff and Birmingham by my daughters to experiences all sorts of music.

I am into all music. Hip hop, trance, oldies, classical, heavy rock but not rap.

Your venture sounds good and seems you feel confident about handling police. Best of luck :) Think it best to get a Thai partner who may have police contacts.

You said " not who you know but what you know". Does not applies here unless you have a fat wallet.
.
Have you been to Luknam in HH? Great place but mostly Thai and occasional Western heavy rock. Punters? a mix of 98% Thai, some farang and some farang in there 60s

Enjoy? and best of luck :thumb:

Hi

I dont want to give to much info out as I am not sure who knows and who doesnt at this present time, and its not my nightclub too. I am sure over the next couple of weeks everybody will see the launch posters around Hua Hin. I know there is a good night planned for the opening and a few celebrity guests have confirmed.

Its not buffalo tavern. I dont think it would do any harm myself but I know the owners and they wanted to keep it a secret until the launch, so it was a big impact. And I dont wont to be the one who lets the cat out of the bag (as they say) As soon as I know they are ready to launch I will post on here, when and where for you. I will be back in Hua Hin for the launch so cannot wait.
