And for the advanced course in spotting hardened the expatprcscct wrote:I've seen the bars over here try all this stuff with tourists, but seldom with expats. I think we must smell different, and even in a place as large as Pattaya, the girls/bars seem to know who we are.
A list of possibilities:
1) Aroma of garlic/onions and Gillette after shave, as it's the only kind available?
2) Nebulous tattoos of Buddhist Thai script on our arms and torso?
3) Tank top, cargo shorts and Dr. Scholl sandals as attire day in and day out?
4) Haircut with #4 clippers.
5) We speak Thai into our cell phones and receive frequent calls from ???, when we're out alone and trying to enjoy ourselves?
6) We don't need to stare at/study Thai money very long when paying bills?
7) We seldom smile until after the first 3 beers?
We watch Thai soaps on the bar TV with interest?
9) We don't let the girls win at the pool/snooker table?
10) We stand up when the Thai National Anthem is played?
Anyone have any others? Pete
I didnt enjoy that place much either, one of the few bars i found to be "pushy??roberto wrote:My least favourite bar is the one with the girls in the school girl uniforms. Its friendly enough and they play great pool but the uniforms are grotesque on a set of very ordinary or super annuated "girls", always make me hurry away after a couple of games of pool, but they can play pool.
