Nice concept but just not pracatable and after you have selected all the finishes to be moisture and mold resistant your AC will be battling the heated pool

It's a bit like some of the outside bathrooms I have seen sounds good at first till you start using them every day

I think what splitlid is doing is cool, opening the box up with fresh ideas, house designs like this are like a concept car - bold and outlandish to start with but then functionalised to a point where they look great and also work with everyday living.

hahaha ok MC i know it not everyones cuppa tea. But i bet a few viewers woke up this morning imagining what it would look like.
letting people know that there are other options and ideas available is important, the design is a one off. not for mass production, but its also there to invoke thought and discussion, (which it has).
People may now be thinking more about what can be designed and built here on their own plot of land.

It certainly is a thought provoking concept. If you can stream or Sky UK Tv's 'Grand Designs' programme (Beeb I think) there are some very interesting and well executed conversions and new builds on there. One I saw had a similar idea with the water channel running along outside the living room - but with floor to ceiling windows between. That was also planted and looked great when it got established - I guess I just like to see a bit of green!

The bedroom design is not my cup of tea either, but that's neither here nor there. What strikes me is if someone has the vision to see and create design concepts like this, then they would obviously have no difficulty at all in producing unique design options for my tastes.

We're happy enough with our house, which I sort of nicked the basic design of from a picture of something in Spain, but I regret not giving that concept to someone with the artistic flair I do not possess to turn it into a working design. Just the small subtle architectural details and one central feature can turn a nice house into a great house imo.

Fair play to splitlid for bringing different ideas to the forum. Pity his flair doesn't extend to his wardrobe mind.

Lifestyle Homes don't just build houses they build a lifestyle as their name suggests. In order to achieve this they have a design questionnaire that prospective customers are asked to complete. I've not come across this foreward thinking from other builders in the area.

Here are the first six questions from Lifestyles design questionnaire.

1. What is the very essence of the home you can see in your mind and feel in your heart?
2. Who are the people who will live in the house, names and ages?
3. In a few words, describe yourselves.
4. If you build it, who will come?
5. Houses can inhabit a piece of land in many ways, perhaps looking like a spaceship that has landed, or looking like a rock that's always been there. Which do you lean toward?
6. What are your feelings toward the area and surroundings of your future home?

the idea of the questionaire is to give us and the client a defined focus area, sometimes a client may not know exaxtly what they need or want until thay have completed the questionaire, even then they may not know 100% but it very oftern gives everyone a clear direction to proceed.

I have a dog that loves to swim. He sleeps with me at night. If I had a pool in the bedroom, he would spend the whole night swimming in it (or, worse, swim for an hour, then come jump on the bed to take a nap). Also, what about mosquitoes. Water tends to attract them. It seems like this is giving them a great place to breed right inside your house!

Hi Dotx, thanks for your reply, regarding the pool inside the room, well, it is and it isnt, there is a glass wall around the room with a sliding door to the pool area, so its actually outside, as for mossie, i dont think they breed in swimming pools.
your dog is another matter, a large automatic hair dryer at the pool exit would be necessary
