US Embassy Thailand terrorism warning
Re: US Embassy Thailand terrorism warning
Sounds like hedging their bets trying to get the terrorists lurking in Bangkok to play nice. Announcement on Thursday is quite a coincidence considering the recent terror warnings and activities.

Probably viewed as a nice motivation by the insurgents down south.

"We bought goods in Asia and exported them to other countries, including Lebanon," he said. "They were fans, photocopier paper and cold-packs used to relieve pain. These bags contained ammonia. It wasn't more complicated than that. We have never dealt with chemical fertilisers. It must have been placed in our store room by someone, probably the Mossad."
Would investigations uncover whether he traded with fertilizers?

They could send him to Guantanamo. They would get the truth out of him. Whatever it needs to be.MrPlum wrote:http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/276112/

Gitmo guards have already been trained in the new procedure of 'urine-boarding'. 6 guards are required to drink copious amounts of BUD ('the best Bud a terrorist can get'). They subsequently all urinate into a cloth held over his mouth. This is then photographed and sent to all Arab publications to inflame the Muslim world. Any spillage is mopped up with pages of the Koran.m_right wrote:They could send him to Guantanamo. They would get the truth out of him. Whatever it needs to be.
Gitmo marketing informs us this procedure is more humane than using water because everyone knows urine is good for the skin.
Re: US Embassy Thailand terrorism warning
Wasn't that one of Obummer's campaign promises... to close the Gitmo detention center?

That's like my son setting fire to the school, your son promising to put it out by midnight last night... then me blaming your son for it all when I found it still ablaze this morning!! Like your style HHFhhfarang wrote:Wasn't that one of Obummer's campaign promises... to close the Gitmo detention center?![]()

You can see why many folks at home are more than unhappy with some of the 'socialist' initiatives, the state of the economy, unemployment etc, but on foreign policy I would have thought most septics would be quietly pleased he put an end to your two wars, not to mention proving your critics wrong and not invading Libya. Compare yesteryear's Iraq and the WMD', with today's Libya and the 55no. Arab League/Muslim Council states requesting UN/US intervention, and it indicates a big step in the right direction imho. And the exact reason many of us non-septics wanted him to get elected, rather than Military McCain. He's welcomed to nause your domestic affairs up all he likes

Exactly, even if it was a very unlikely 'coincidence', or some other agenda as mentioned in earlier posts, shirley the timing should have been more responsibly managed. This reads as... step 1: 'Initiate terror campaign in a capital city', step 2: 'Country announces recognition of Palestinian state' (quite right in isolation), step 3: 'Go down pub, job & knock'caller wrote:Probably viewed as a nice motivation by the insurgents down south.

Just take the easy route and deport his ass back to where he came from. People, including terrorist/government bodies don't plant evidence in the homes of totally innocent people.......why would they? Why would Mossad or whoever even be interested in him in the first place if he was nothing but another tourist?

I have looked on my company’s website and there are no new security alerts for Thailand, only the one for the far South which has been there with many updates for at least 8 years.
This is strange as they are normally very quick to alert us if there are any security issues that we should be aware of.
