Use Internet Download Manager (IDM) to download from YouTube - works very well. Fast downloads even on the crappy connection I have here (far slower than HH, believe me!)..

avi is just a container. It can contain whatever codec inside that file you like. If you've got sync issues, it sounds like the files were badly encoded in the first place; mp4 files are not inherently flawed.

*edit here is a good list of reasons that avi files are generally not being used so much these days.

I download straight from torrentz.eu using bittorrent. Only thing i have ever used so i don't know if its crap or not.

I'm guessing there are no issues with downloading stuff across there? I was chatting to a mate of mine and he said they are clamping down on it in the UK?
