Great photos BB, It looks like a lot of people had fun and got very, very wet.
I can imagine the action was similar up in Cha Am. My family and I got soaked
during a visit there about 3 years ago.
Pluto is my favorite planet!, especially now that we all can see close up
pictures of it.

Yes, I think Songkran was just about the same wherever you were in Thailand - absolute mayhem :D

It's not over yet. Yesterday was my town. Today is another beach town on the coast as well as Pattaya kicking off, tomorrow being the key day there. They are closing all of Beach Road and all of second road from Central up to south Pattaya road. Something like 800-1000 police and associated rescue workers etc., have been recruited.

The very last appears to be Samut Prakan which holds things on the 21st. Pete

I was surprised to hear that a chap I played golf with today was heading over your way this evening for Songkran. We all thought it started and finished on the 13th here.

You HH folks are sane. :D It goes on and on in other places in Thailand. It's all commercial, the longer they can extend it the more money is made. As I mentioned somewhere, in the Pattaya area it runs from today in the Naklua area, Pattaya tomorrow, Jomtien Sunday and I think Sattahip Sunday also.

If you look here: http://www.pattayadailynews.com/ there's photos from today, and a few articles talk about it starting in Pattaya on the 13th and still going until the finale tomorrow!

The place is really nuts and gets more so each year. I enjoyed it back around 2004-05 but then got too much for me. We would start on our trek downtown at about 0900 already sucking beers, and have someone drag us home about midnight. No more of that....next life.

Not a fan of Somgkran but ended up on khao San road in bangkok, which was 99% Thai. To see the locals enjoy the festivities was a joy, great time, great festival.
