That's a no go... I repeat... a no go. It's actually a small fortune to open one up. The Five Star Chicken set up is still being looked into. You only need enough of them in the right places with the right staff to be able to turn over a tidy profit. The right staff is where one will struggle - it's not exactly a career for anyone, now. As you said - it takes money to make money.Speaking of which... what happened to your plan to franchise a fast food joint?
Man... if I had a decent little bit of cash, it's very easy to make money here. The natives judge a book by it's cover and as long as you decorate it right and have the right advertising set up and PR... you will find it hard to fail here. Take Inlingua language school for example - In Thailand's Inlingua's...they pay the teacher's pittance, couldn't give a damn about experience but turn over a fortune simply because they are seen as a World Brand (they have many spots all over the world - albeit much better run). The parents want their kids to go there because it's more expensive and upmarket than elsewhere - What they don't realise is that they are being given inexperienced Government School quality teachers to teach their kids. These 'teachers' take a mere 3-8% of the take in a class or 20% when one on one - the rest goes to 'Brand Inlingua' (once teachers are established here or experienced they won't work for that kind of money). The proper rate is 70% to the teacher 30% to the place of work. When you have ten+ teachers teaching it still brings in a lot of money - not as much as Inlingua mind. ECC fairs a little better with their interview process but still offers little incentive for teachers to work to the best of their ability.
Ambition and drive is not lacking that much. I'm just very cautious that I don't end up wasting my time when I don't have much time (or cash) to spare being wasted...Good luck to you, but what you really need ambition and drive.
Anywho, I've been putting 'feelers' out all over (not just here) and something came up with my Boss today which could materialize into something ok. You never know what there is about unless you ask. Costs nothing to ask so I thought I'd ask you good folk and you've given me plenty to think about. If there's any more ideas/suggestions please continue to post them.
