Agreed. I didn't understand this. It was Jools, not Richard who first suggested BB's and Richard simply agreed. How can one reference be 'plugging'? You would need to do it repeatedly.

These comments are provocative and come across as threatening... 'most of your last post is rubbish'... 'don't open that can of worms, buddy'... 'now you are disrespecting me'.

Moderators should be able to draw a line between their personal feelings towards members and moderation. When you mix the two you lose objectivity.

Or is there more to this than this thread shows?

May I suggest a little tactful tip. If someone does suspect anybody of promotion of anything. They first pm the poster. Give the poster a little time to explain themselves first :)
I got wrongly accused once of promoting a coffee shop, I got very upset as it was untrue. Chaps...sometimes people get enthusiastic about certain places, does not mean they are promoting it

Anyway...my plug is for Natta's (Soi 88) great steaks! :)

Richard, as you live here and have been on this forum since 2003, I feel you should be made an honorary moderator. Isn't that what usually happens in Thailand, sort of promoted out of the way? What say all?

I went to Papa John's recently and was very disappointed by the whole experience. The service was slow, despite it not being terribly busy and the steak was fairly cold when it arrived. I ordered the chateaubriand to share with my father-in-law and opted for the Bearnaise sauce, which was by far the strangest tasting thing I have tried with steak - it was more like a sweet custard. A lot of money but some very pleasant cocktails.

I went to Prime Steak a few weeks back and had a much better experience with many of the sides included as one of their 'wooden platters' You can also get very good sautéed onion rings as an 'off menu' side.

This is the first time I can remember agreeing with something you have said!

The mod in question will not get 'respect' from me for banning someone over a steak

I fully agree Nokyai - and with Mr P and DT. It all seems like a storm in a teacup. Perhaps other events way back are being allowed to influence things here?

Siani, you can get the same great steak (probably cooked by the same guy) and even be served by that same Natta's waitress, at All Seasons across from the Hilton Brewery. Natta's was always a satellite operation of thiers and they decided to close it and move the staff to the main operation, which has exactly the same menu, but with slightly (about 10%) higher pricing because of the location.

There are several places in Hua Hin that serve good steaks. Usually, but not always, you get what you pay for. Don't expect premium quality steaks and great service for a budget price.

Of those mentioned so far in this 'interesting' discussion I have found both Prime and BB's well worth repeat visits.

I never tried the Wagyu at BB's (or anywhere else for they matter) but the Cider is wonderful and once or twice a week I pop in and enjoy a pint or two. By the way, I have never seen it empty as mentioned in an earlier post.

Thanks for that HHF. I will certainly try it when we come to HH next time. I actually remember the waitress, a serious little girl, almost looked like she was straight from school! She worked really hard and served the whole restaurant single handed as I recall. She said she had a child to support and had to work very hard. The steaks were really good, I think they were imported.

They had both imported and Thai French beef. I always got the cheaper local steak and it was always good. The waitress has help now as there are about four at All Seasons.
