My wife loves all that crap so I let her do the shopping. It suits me fine, I no longer have to shop. Next, I'm working on staying home while she shops. My functions will include: opening and shutting the gate and carrying in the packages. Now, that's retirement.

I think the whole process was easy. I'm scanning the QR code, click the website link, my browser opens, and is set to automatically translate Thai to English, click either the entry or exit button, type phone number, done! I always skip the survey, no need to take that one.

Thank you again huahin4ever - a simple solution, but very effective. I still think the app is crap, but at least its simple to use. Shopping has just become a little easier again.

In fairness, if they'd made it any more complex (as I would have), we'd all be shouting Big Brother.

They had this (cr)app in operation in our local Tesco today, left my phone in the car anyway, and walked straight past it into the store. Nobody batted an eyelid.

TRACING WEBSITE NOW INCLUDES INFO OF 5 MILLION PEOPLE
Since Sunday, when the government started requiring business customers to register their info with the Thai Chana website, a total of 67,904 shops have registered with the system so far, Taweesin said.

Up to 5,077,978 people have used the website to check in more than 8.5 million times, though check out only took place 6.5 million times.

Taweesin said that the website collected people’s phone number data for 60 days to be able to catch clusters of infections if they broke out.

I was in Makro earlier, still no joy with the code so just walked through. There was no-one to assist in any case. No-one was bothering on the way out.

Just do as huahin4ever suggested. I simply changed my default phone browser to Chrome, and told it to automatically translate. I still dislike the application/website, but very simple to use.

We've just been to Makro, and while we were doing the scanning, etc, not one other person of many coming in bothered with it.

Yes, I think that was one of my initial criticisms - we didn't do it properly the first day, and at least a dozen walked in behind us doing nothing.

Must admit that looking at all this, I'm very happy that the two of us very rarely venture into malls.

I've noticed the condo behind us has a bar code proudly displayed. It's coming everywhere, unless the website dies first.

It's coming everywhere.

That's the truth. Welcome to the mark of the beast, without which you can neither buy nor sell.
