It's Kings Cup fortnight, so no T1 football until 15 Sept. To get my fix of Thai football this week, I'm watching the Revo Cup tie Hua Hin City vs Rajpracha on the TV. How things have changed since I used to support them. Maybe 30 people in the East Stand, and not a sponsors advertising board to be seen. As far as I can see, not a single Farang in the squad, After last season's excitement, it is clear to see the Tessebahn have taken charge again.

What a terrible start for our local team. 3-0 down, and Rajpracha missed a penalty by half time. I decided there was more benefit in walking the dogs than watching more of that for another 45 minutes.

Defence was non-existent and not much quality in the attack either. I'm afraid it will be a long, long season for Hua Hin City fans.

I am not sure whether this is a P* take or not.

It seems Thap Luang have requested this game be played at Takiab Stadium. However, any Hua Hin City supporters attending will have to be treat as away supporters, so will have to pay double admission charges.

Only in Thailand :?

If interested Thai TV Channel 7 has full games and highlights with analysis each morning between 0330 and 0430. I know it's a laugh, unless crazy like me and up at that time.

Fine I won't go then! Hope others follow suit

I assume it's within the power of the club to charge the 'home' fans half the away rate

And presumably the away lot get in for 'half price' then?!

Disgraceful

Or for just 500฿/season you can watch every T1 and T2 game live on AIS or True. I was able to watch the Kings Cup 3rd/4th place play off and the Kings Cup Final live in my hotel room last night. The scheme got off to a shaky start, but it is brilliant. Also highlights of all T1 and T2 games are available on demand.

Is that standard here, that away fans pay more?

Oh yes, not normally double though. As an example, at Ratchaburi tickets are 120, 140 and 170 Baht. Away supporters shoved in the worst corner of the stadium (but still a decent view) pay 200 Baht.

When you go somewhere like Prachuap, you get charged 200 Baht, and have the worst view in Thai Football. They used to provide a free ice-cream as a sweetener, but that has stopped this season.

Okay thanks. I am surprised anyone travels away! Why don't they all just go and all sit in the home seats?

I think its the potential trouble that follows if you cheer at the wrong point. Emotions can get the better of you. People like to wear their club's colours.

OK, crowd trouble is very rare in Thai football, but it does happen. Port and Muangthong actually have a MOU banning each other's fans from their stadiums to prevent trouble. In games between those teams, the MOU simply forces away fans to wear neutral colours and mingle with home fans.

I haven't been to Prachuap stadium since before Covid but the away end was pretty crappy then. Didn't realize they charged more for away supporters either, will head up there if they ever play on a Saturday again!

It still looks a good experience for home supporters in the stand opposite the grandstand. Not as many supporters as their first season in the top level, but a good crowd.

I presume, looking at it, the running track is no longer used. They could move the meccano stands so much closer, basically replicating PAT stadium. It would be so much better for home and away supporters alike. As for leaving the old scoreboard to obstruct the view of away supporters, I'm speechless.
